It was an absolute pleasure to attend GLAMABOX X Revlon Color Burst Lip Butters launch event, the moment I saw the hot pink box I knew something must be good inside! The spokesperson of GLAMABOX is Lisa S., she and her Team handpicked the finest niche brands selections to be delivered to you each month.

We all had instant makeover using the Revlon Lip Butters! I tried on the shade "Peach Parfait" and it felt buttery and glossy on the lips, it's also very moisturizing.

After months of long wait, GlossyBox has finally touched the shores of Hong Kong last month! I was invited to a sneak peek of what the GlossyBox team has to offer, get yourself prepared for the excitement that lies ahead!

If you're new to the idea of GlossyBox, here's how it works. Each month you pay a fixed amount (HK$120 currently), the Team will deliver a box to your door and there'd be 4-6 products handpicked by them. One of the products would be a full-sized product, and others would be deluxe sample sized products. Each time you open the box it'll be a surprise as you wouldn't know what products are waiting for you inside the box. But you could be assured that the products inside would add up MORE than the amount you paid for it (HK$120), talk about a bargain!

一月份的盒子內裡是這樣的.

My thoughts on the inaugural box is that even though the items all look small (with Becca Beach Tint being the full-sized here), the Team had handpicked a comprehensive range of products in it - from skincare to hair, makeup, bath and body. And the brand selection ranged from major brands to niche but still higher-end brands. I mean, the bottomline is, even though you may not know what lies inside the box in advance until you open it, but it is for certain that the value of the items inside would worth more than HK$120! And if you already own the items inside (which for a second, I kind of doubt that), the items would make a great little gifts for somebody!

Another good thing is that you can try a sample of that product you've been longing for, before going ahead with purchasing the full-sized version of it. You certainly can avoid those pushy salespersons at the counters as well.

第一個盒子麻雀雖小, 但五臟俱全, 別小看細細件的產品, 單是 Becca Beach Tint 都已經要HK$330啊. 產品種類由 skincare到頭髮護理, 化妝至身體護理都覆蓋到, 品牌又有著名又有在香港比較少人認識的都有! 我咁認為, 就算未必每件產品你都能用得著, 那你不會用的產品都可留給朋友啊! 還有,可以先試用後決定買不買全支裝, 試罷不喜歡銀包也不會肉痛; 更不用提安坐家中試新產品免除了counter 有時都幾煩人的店員.

With the mystery factor buried in the Box each month, you can have the thrill and excitement and all with HK$120 per month (shipping is included!). Who doesn't love spoiling themselves with little beauty surprises? I am swooned and already rose a white flag to it, gladly surrendering my credit card for this cute little pink box already! I'm hoping they'll have more fun packed in the upcoming February (aka Valentine's Day) box, since I read in the UK the Team delivered a hot pink box to subscribers. Let's hope ours in HK will be even better!

Latest drugstore gems //開架自有黃金屋

I have never been one who paid much attention to drugstore brands (don't get me wrong, I'm by no means a beauty snob), it's just you see those brands nearly every day and don't care much about them. Yet, if you look closer, you'd be able to find affordable beauty gems that deliver results comparable to high street brands! Today I'm sharing my latest finds:

我一向不太留意開架式品牌, (我當然不是 "非專櫃品牌不用" 那種人), 只是開架式品牌到處都是, 甚少會注意它們的新產品罷了. 不過, 細看之下, 其實有不少便宜又好用的美容新品啊! 近期和大家分享的新發現是:

1. Maybelline Pure BB Mousse Mineral Instant Skin Smoother SPF 30 PA+++

This stuff is seriously the genie in a bottle. I've been switching over to this (and ditching my usual powder foundie) for almost a month now and it works amazing both as a primer and foundation. Coverage is sheer to medium but texture is delightfully lightweight! It pumps out in foam/mousse form and blends beautifully with a sponge.

我稱這瓶 mousse為神燈! 我由粉餅行列轉陣用這個已經有一個月, 這瓶mousse 可當打底和粉底兩用, 遮瑕度中度至偏底, 質感不可思異地輕到離譜! 用海綿推開的效果最理想.

This mousse makes rush mornings much easier. Pump, blend, conceal (under eyes and etc), set with powder and GO. Product comes in one shade (01 natural shade), retails at HK$149 and contains 65g. Pricing is a bit on the steeper side for a drugstore product but hey, it gives you smooth skin and evens out complexion, and it saves so much time in the mornings!

多得這瓶mousse, 早上慳回不少時間. 喞, 推勻, 遮瑕, 定妝就搞掂. 現時有01色出售, 65g, 售價$149, 雖然以開架式妝品來說價錢高了點, 但它能令膚色均勻及順滑, 省回不少用來遮瑕的時間!

2) Nivea Intensive Moisture Body Milk

Priced at below HK$30, this is the ultimate warrior to a cold and dry winter (and hello indoor heaters!). The amount of product is insanely a lot and I haven't been able to finish all of it after a 2-3 months usage. Contrary to buttery formula out there which could feel greasy on the skin, this body milk is easily absorbed to skin and carries no overwhelming scent.

價錢低於$30, 這瓶潤膚露足以打敗嚴冬和室內的乾燥暖氣. 容量多到2-3個月都用不完. 如果你試過市面不少body butters 但覺得油膩的話, 不妨試試它, 很快被皮膚吸收之餘不會帶濃烈的香味.

3) Rachel K Mineral Color Control BB Cream & Mineral Sultry Seduction Lip Plumper Gloss

For days when extra coverage is needed, I opted for this BB Cream. This brand is owned by Rachel Kum who won the 2009 Miss Singapore Universe. The product offers medium to heavy coverage and of course, SPF protection, you could skip concealers after applying this, really. Their lip plumper gloss feels minty on the lips and the shade I had on was "Suggestive" - a peachy coral. For those who're interested, on their online website, they're giving you a free lip plumper when you buy the BB Cream.

需要遮瑕度高一點的時候, 我會用這支BB Cream, 遮瑕度中等至偏高, 並有防曬效能. 如果要飽滿的唇型, 這支lip plumper 也不俗. 下圖所見的是 "suggestive" - 珊瑚橙色. Rachel K 品牌由贏得 2009 Miss Universe Singapore 的 Rachel Kum所開發.

Beauty with a Cause: MAC Viva Glam Event for World Aids Day// 發自內心的美麗: MAC與世界愛滋病日

Many beauty brands make contributions to being cruelty-free, protecting the Earth, raising breast cancer awareness, etc. yet which does actually go full length and donate 100% of proceeds from their sales? Well, for every MAC Viva Glam lipstick/gloss sold, every penny goes to support the MAC AIDS Fund. To date, over US$228 Million was donated via the sales of Viva Glam series. It was World Aids Day a while ago (sorry it took me a long time to post this since I was really busy with work!) and I was lucky enough to be asked by my beauty pal Rach, to meet James Molloy - the Regional Director of MAC Asia Pacific, doing a demo on a model with various classic Viva Glam shades.

市場上很多品牌以保護地球, 不作動物測試等為豦頭, 但又有那個品牌會做全套 - 把100%來自銷售的收益全數捐予慈善用途? 不講不知, 售出的 MAC Viva Glam 唇膏和唇彩的收益都會每分每毫撥進MAC愛滋病基金作慈善用途, 用以支持愛滋病團體. 不久之前MAC就著世界愛滋病日發起了關注運動 (因本女子事忙, 現在才清稿, 實在不好意思!), 我才有機會認識 MAC 亞太區的總監和化妝師 - James Malloy. 他當日即時在model 唇上示範如何用Viva Glam的顏色打造經典紅唇look.

James shared some of his tips in creating the perfect, long-lasting pout. He suggested patting Prep + Prime powder on top of the lipstick to give it a matte and stay-put finish. His favourite shade was the Viva Glam V, which he said, was a universally flattering shade for women of all skin tones. Speaking of reds, I don't own a red lipstick so far. It's unbelievable yeah? Reds are a bit daring for most Asian skin, and it's the last thing I want to be caught wearing in fact, come on I've not reached that age! Anyhow, under the influence of James saying how flattering it is, I made a mental note of swatching that shade while I'm at the counters later!

James 分享他的心得 - 要令唇妝持久, 可在塗畢唇色後輕輕拍上MAC Prep + Prime Powder, 令質感變matte之餘亦有定妝用途. 他最喜愛的顏色是 Viva Glam V, 因其色調在任何膚色種族的面上都會好看. 說到鮮紅色唇膏, 本女子目前為止都未曾擁有, 很難相信吧? 個人覺得亞洲人的膚色很難carry 鮮紅色, 更不要說我還未到那個年紀要塗鮮紅色呢. 不過既然師傅講到 Viva Glam V 咁 '掂', 就聽下James教路, 下次去counter時試上手看看有幾容易配搭啦!

I was given the latest release of Viva Glam Gaga 2, both the lipstick and the lipgloss to try on. I actually debated whether to get this or not when it was released last spring, but was worrying that it'd make me look wash out. However after trying, I was convinced that Viva Glam shades are quite universally flattering on almost every skin shade, you'll see why in the pics below.

就係咁, 我帶著 Viva Glam Gaga 2 唇膏和唇蜜回家試下係咪真係咁容易carry. Gaga 2 始終屬於裸色系, 唔小心就會望落好似生病咁, 面青口唇白. 試過後我明白點解James 話Viva Glam 的顏色係適合任何膚色喇.

Viva Glam Gaga 2 is a subtle yet noticeable soft beige with pink hues to it, which I guess was why it didn't make me look washout. Pigmentation is high since the formula belongs to the Amplified family.

Viva Glam Gaga 2 是隻低調棕啡帶有粉紅的顏色, 所以塗上後都不會令人 '冇精神'. 由於 Gaga 2屬於Amplified 系列的 formula, 因此上色度很高.

Just one try and I'm hooked with the nude lip look! Oh Viva Glam Gaga 2, thy incredible pigmentation, flattering color, and most importantly, the beauty cause behind it, deserve some praise! The latest spokesperson from MAC for Viva Glam Campaign is Ricky Martin and Nicki Minaj - aren't you ants-ing in your pants what shades they're gonna release when the time comes?!

Forever 21 pre-launch in Hong Kong // Forever 21正式登陸香港!

The long-awaited street fashion chainstore has finally landed in Jardine's Bazaar in Causeway Bay on 18th January 2012. I was able to snap a few pics of the pieces they revealed in their pre-launch, for those who found it too crowded to get in after it opens, or for those who simply can't wait to see what they have to offer! Situated in the hustle & bustle in Causeway Bay, the store opens til 1am daily - good news for those who've always fantasized midnight retail therapy.

等了良久的 fast fashion 品牌 Forever 21 上週終於在銅鑼灣渣甸街開業了. 難得可以在開業前一天先睹為快, 當然不會忘記大家啦. 尤其在開幕初期, 店內肯定會水洩不通, 莫說買心頭好, 連看都未看過便已售完的情況大有可能發生. 不過, Forever 21 很識做, 除了座落於人流多的銅鑼灣鬧市外, 還把營業時間延長至零晨一時. 誰說夜深不能shopping?

The store has 6 floors and half of it is now open, the other half, together with two digital billboards will unveil in the near future.

From my observations, Forever 21 answers every fashionista's prayers by offering fast fashion fixes at prices lower than other street fashion chain stores. With stocks coming in daily, Forever 21's sub-brands Heritage 1981, Love 21, Tween will also be available soon. When it comes to pricing, a striped dress is retailed at $109 HKD (~$15 USD), and skirts starting at $109 HKD (~$15 USD), blazer at $179 HKD (~$22 USD), which is quite affordable if you compare with H&M, Bershka and the like!

就觀察所見, Forever 21 提供的服飾比現有的連鎖 street fashion 品牌價錢平一點, 加上每天都有新貨到, 對時裝達人來說確是喜訊. 旗下品牌 Heritage 1981, Love 21 和 Tween都會陸續登場, 大家要密切留意. 談到價錢, 一件連身裙都是 $109 起, 短裙都是 $109 有交易, 西裝褸 $180 有找. H&M 同Bershka 都未必行啊!

Many of us spent ages trying to look for a 'signature' perfume, it took me a year to discover mine: Marc Jacobs EDP. But there's a tiny part of me that's always looking for an alternative - for days when I feel like experimenting other possibilities - this is where Jolie Rose comes in.

有很多人花了很久才找到屬於自己的香氛/香水氣味, 我就是其中一位. 當我認定Marc Jacobs EDP是我畢生摯愛, 屬於我的signature scent時, 間中內心仍會想看看還有沒有別的香氛可以比它更"signature". 在找尋其他可能性時, 我就碰到 Jolie Rose, 一支花香為主調的EDT. (個人喜歡花味的香水多於果味)

Jolie Rose is a new EDT from a brand called Azzaro. Normally I go for EDPs as the longevity is much better. Floral notes is my cup of tea (instead of fruity scents, haha), but heavy scent of rose is not my thing. Jolie Rose gives me just the right dose of floral indulgence without the overwhelming whiff of pungent flowers.

Jolie Rose EDT 是Azzaro 的新作品. 通常我習慣用EDP因為EDP香氣較EDT持久. 個人口味偏好花香多於果香, 但過於濃郁的玫瑰花味就不是我杯茶了. 正因如此, Jolie Rose的輕淡花香便正中下懷了.

Jolie Rose has a playful design on the bottle cap, and the bright pink bottle definitely cheered me up in dreadful (especially monday) mornings. It lingers on about 6-7 hours which is considerably acceptable for an EDT. The smell is a mix of violets and white musks, citrus and lilies. Don't be fooled by the name, it has nothing to do with rose.

鮮粉紅色的瓶蓋有個好處: 夠搶眼, 我這些善忘的人會經常忘記早上臨出門前噴一噴. 持久度以EDT來說確實很不俗, 有6-7 小時. 至於香味呢, 則是紫羅蘭, 白麝香, 少許鮮檸檬和白合花的混合. 千萬不要被它的名字騙倒, 它完全沒有令人敬而遠之的玫瑰味啊!

The perfume comes in two sizes, 30 ml and 50ml, I think I'd go through this bottle in handful of months. In fact I have placed it in my office, I spray whenever I feel like it (did I mention tough times at work?), this bottle does a good job in lifting spirits.

這瓶香氛有2種size, 30ml 和 50ml. 我有預感我手中的30ml 會在3-4月內噴光, 因為我已把它放在office, 想噴時有得噴 (尤其工作心情不佳之時), Jolie Rose便會發揮它的提神作用.

L'oreal Color Infallibles eyeshadows swatches & review 試色用評

Do these look like ice cubes? Only better! The long-awaited color infallibles from L'oreal has landed in HK finally! Blogger friends from UK and Canada were kind enough to send me some, but then I got myself more :P L'oreal Infallibles are a wallet-friendly version of Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Eyeshadows as you probably have heard already.

The whole range features a bunch of shades and today 4 of the shades would be featured.

看著L'oreal新推出的Color Infallible眼影, 心想 "它的包裝很似冰粒啊". 其實老早已經有英國及加拿大朋友給了我, 但在香港看見它們時, 忍不住添多了幾粒 :P 無法子啦, 好用的東西才會難以抗拒的.

The shades are: 004 Forever Pink, 007 Unlimited Sky, 012 Endless Chocolat, 015 Flashblack Silver.

這次為大家試色的是 004 Forever Pink, 007 Unlimited Sky, 012 Endless Chocolat, 015 Flashblack Silver.

包裝內有黑色小蓋子, 萬一跌了眼影都不怕弄碎, 設計很貼心:

The texture is simply divine, it's not cream, its not entirely powder, it's not gel...it's velvety smooth.

質地很heaven-like, 不是cream狀, 也不是粉末狀, 不是gel狀...總之就像絨面般柔滑.

Swatches as labelled below. I particularly like 015 Flashblack Silver because it's not a flat-right-there kind of grey, it carries a purple-ish sheen to it, 012 Endless Chocolat is also very wearable.

試色圖如下. 015 Flashblack Silver 是很有深度的顏色, 它絕不是水泥般的灰, 細看之下始發現它銀中帶點紫.

Here's a comparison picture of L'oreal Color Infallible in 004 Forever Pink with Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill in #7 Sweet Fire. The Armani version looks more dimensional in the jar (you could see brown chunks in it) while the L'oreal color infallible appears more fine in texture in the jar.

我把L'oreal Color Infallible 和Armani 的Eyes To Kill 眼影放在一起比較. 兩者皆為粉紅色, 但後者在瓶子裡的顏色較多層次 (你會看見啡色的粒子在瓶子裡), 而 L'oreal 的看下去質感較滑, 因它沒有其它顏色混在一起.

Packaging and money-wise, L'oreal jars are definitely lighter for your purse, and the colors that show up in the pan are true to what you actually swatched. Performance wise, Color Infallibles doesn't smudge, crease, nor fades.

無論以包裝或價錢來說, L'oreal 的color infallible都有照顧到你的銀包, 試色出來的顏色和瓶子裡的很一致, 沒有偏差. 還有, 值得一提的是, 塗了整天也不會起褶, 沒有暈染的情況出現, 也沒有脫色啊!

I know I know, I said I would be MIA for a while but I couldn't resist doing swatch pics even if I'm not blogging. Plus, the swatches help everyone right? I promised Vicky the following swatches.

#01 Blast of Blue looks more gold in my jar than blue, but after you worked through the golden flecks on the surface, the blue beneath will come through, #02 is not as metallic (sheen) as the others, #14 Gold Spirit is a dirty gold while #06 Khaki Pulse leans towards khaki instead of gold; personally #16 Silver Night comes as a big surprise (but a good one) - it looked like a silvery charcoal color in the jar but it shows up metallic blue with greyish tones!

I literally screamed when I saw the supposedly LE releases of Armani Eyes To Kill (ETK hereafter) back in stores, the colors are #14 Gold Spirit, #15 Copper Impress and #16 Silver Night. #14 is out of stock so I got #15 Copper Impress since one can never have enough neutral colors. 當我看到本應是聖誕限量色的 Armani Eyes To Kill Silk/Intense 眼影時 (#14 Gold Spirit, #15 Copper Impress 和#16 Silver Night 號), 差點尖叫起來. #14 賣斷了, 所以要了#15. 如果你要看之前的試色文, 請看這裡和這裡.

Notice the reflection on the marble. The box wrote 'silk eyeshadow' but their catalog reads "Eyes To Kill Intense", so much hassle for different names across different countries XD but you get the idea.

題外話, 在雲石上的倒影很漂亮啊. 盒上寫著 "silk eyeshadow" 但catalog寫的是"Eyes To Kill Intense", 為何在不同國家有不同明字呢? *抓頭*

#15 Copper Impress is a golden brown infused with black (er or vice versa). It looks like it's leaning towards gold instead of copper, but you'll have to see the swatch below :)

#15 Copper Impress 是帶金的深啡顏色, 混了點黑色. 看下去很似金色但出來的其實是銅色啊 :)

In the swatches you'll see that #15 Copper Impress is a dirty copper/gold color and unlike how it looks in the jar with the black metallic flecks, it carries no black at all.

#15 的顏色很有''古銅"的味道, 與在瓶子裡的帶黑顏色不同, 一點也沒有黑色啊 ^^

This is going to be a quick post. Hot & fresh swatches from the latest blush blossom from Jill Stuart 2011 "Kitten Eyes" summer collection - #07 Charming Lily.

速記: Jill Stuart夏天Kitten Eyes系列的胭脂, 07 Charming Lily.

Blush Blossom is a loose blush powder, Charming Lily consisted of an ivory white color (faint faint shimmer), and a bright peony pink (matte but carries a faint sheen).

Blush Blossom 乃碎粉胭脂是也, 由象牙白色 (微閃) + 牡丹粉紅 (啞光但帶點光澤).

The swatches below followed the order of the colors when the blush is opened (i.e. not viewed from the back).

I'm so happy to write the Monthly Favourites post for May, since summer has officially started in this corner of the world and it's time for sunshine and bronze!

今個五月要feature甚麼產品我早已有心水, 哈. 原因是夏天已降臨地球的這個角落, 五顏六色的妝物是時候出動了!

Left to right, top to bottom

Chanel Bronze Rose Soleil Tan de Chanel - To be honest, I wouldn't have bought this if not for the discount, but I'm so impressed by this blush bronzer. Bronze Corail looks a bit dark/muddy on me so I opted for Bronze Rose and just 2 sweeps of this on each cheek, it gave me instant cheekbones and a sun-kissed glow.

ORBIS UV Cut Sunscreen on Face Light SPF 34 PA ++ - This should be my 8th bottle of tinted sunscreen which also doubles as a primer, I can't live without it during summer. Texture is watery and absorbs quickly, not sticky at all. The tint is light so it's suitable for all fair skintones. This holds my makeup and controls oil pretty well, hence my 8th bottle.

DollyWink Pencil liner in Brown - This pencil liner has been on my HG list for months, doesn't smudge, glides on smoothly, matte.

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer - Got this while I was in the UK and I'm glad to have stumbled upon an outstanding drugstore concealer that is comparable with my previous HG - Canmake Cover & Stretch UV Concealer. Texture just about right, not runny, blends easily to cover dark circles and blemishes.

Korres Quercetin & Oak Anti-Aging Primer - This primer has no SPF but it makes the face feels smooth and velvety (WITHOUT silicones!) prior to makeup application. Not to mention that it smells a lovely orange scent. Perfect for heading out during post-sun hours!

Dior Addict Lipstick in Tokyo - Not bright pink, not orange, not over-the-top (read: obvious). It's not a nude shade but perfect for everyday use, Tokyo goes along well with just any other eyeshadow/blush colors. I like the texture of Dior Addict lipsticks, glossy and pretty moisturizing (ahem Chanel Rouge Coco Shines, I'm looking at you).

Topshop nail polish in Zealous - The dear Elaine sent me this and I loved this creamy half-neon pink shade, pink shade with an edge. The shade speaks for itself: pink doesn't necessarily mean girly.

Bedhead 4-Play eyeshadow in Foolproof - Got it from a giveaway and I had no idea Bedhead makes eyeshadow! This quad = dupes for Urban Decay Naked Palette, I kid you not. If you're a big fan of neutrals, don't miss out this quad. Color picks up easily.

Chanel Bronze Rose Soleil Tan de Chanel (古銅修容+胭脂)- 老實說如果不是有優惠的話我本來沒有打算買的, 不過用過之後, 每天我的手不自覺拿這個來用. 另一個顏色Bronze Corail 對我來說比較深色, 所以最終選了Bronze Rose. 只要掃 2下, 顎骨即時出現, 好像曬太陽過後在面頰的健康古銅色.

ORBIS UV Cut Sunscreen on Face Light 防曬液 SPF 34 PA ++ - 這應該是第8瓶了, 夏天絕對不能沒有它. 質地清爽, 不油膩, 是很好的防曬和打底霜. 控油度和定妝很理想, 所以不斷回購使用它.

DollyWink 深啡色眼線筆 - 之前幾個月也有feature過的, 不脫色, 順滑, 無閃粉.

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear 遮瑕膏 - 在英國時買下的, 出奇的好, 能妣美我一直使用的Canmake Cover & Stretch UV 遮瑕膏. 想不到開架式品牌都可以很impressive, 質感不會太水, 容易推開, 遮黑眼圈和暗啞一流.

Korres Quercetin & Oak 抗衰老底霜 - 沒有防曬但能令妝前皮膚像絨般柔滑 (請主意: 不含矽成份), 市面很多的底霜含有矽, 不是人人的皮膚都受得了. Korres 以天然成份自居, 這支底霜帶橙味清香, 適合太陽下山後時分出外用!

Dior Addict Tokyo 唇膏 - 不粉紅, 不橙, 不會太鮮豔. 雖不是裸色系, 但絕對是每天都能用得上的顏色, 可配合任何眼影/胭脂色調使用. Glossy得來亦很滋潤.

Topshop Zealous指甲油 - 這顏色是Elaine給我的, 誰說粉紅一定要是很女孩的顏色?

Bedhead 4-Play Foolproof 4色眼影 - 一直不知到Bedhead有妝物, 但這個4色眼影完全是Urban Decay Naked Palette 的複製品! 如果你是大地色的fans, 不可能不喜歡它! 上色度不錯.

My new beauty toy: EOS lip balm in Lemon Drop SPF 15 review//我的美容新寵兒 - EOS潤唇膏

Thanks to Justine who gave me this EOS lip balm, I've been addicted to its smell and its er...funny packaging. The flavour I got is Lemon Drop, the only flavour which comes with SPF 15 (bonus points for that!). The balm is packaged in a spherical shape and I keep bouncing and playing with it.

首先感謝Justine寄了這個EOS潤唇膏給我, 從此我對它的味道 + 特別包裝上癮了. 我手上的味道是檸檬味, 還有防曬 SPF 15. 這個乒乓球狀的潤唇膏實在太好玩了, 我拿在手中不停拋. 哈哈

The balm has 7g of product, which is pretty decent for a lip balm and the price you pay. I am doubtful whether one can finish it though (more on that below). The smell is amazing, like lemon candies with honey.

它有 7grams, 以價錢來說不俗. 但致於能否完成整個潤唇膏我則有點保留 (看尾段). 無可否認的是, 它的檸檬蜜糖味道很吸引啊.

Consistency wise, it's not sticky, and it stays on for hours. I tried sleeping with it and when I woke up it's still on my lips. I can't really comment on the moisturizing bit though, since I think it pretty much sits on top of the lips but not really sinking in. Depends on whether you're looking for a protective coat with extra SPF I'd say.

質感方面, 不會黏著黏著的, 可以維持數小時. 我試過睡前塗, 第二天早上還在嘴上. 我不覺得它滋潤, 因為塗在唇上之後, 沒錯它是持久, 但似是停留在表面但這不代表它被吸收. 那要看看你想找甚麼功能的潤唇膏了, 滋潤型? 防曬型? 香味型?

So what happens is, you twist off the top and swipe this on your lips, but the dome-shaped lip balm will eventually flatten out and becomes er, flat. By that time how are you supposed to apply? By fingers maybe? I've seen it on some blogs that once it's flattened and when you apply it to your lips, your teeth would easily come into contact with the flattened top. I chose not to think too much on that, though (giggles).

For the price you pay, this is a decent lip balm with a fun twist, and it smells wonderful too. Although for me the fun and playful packaging scores more than the product itself. But if you have a few dollars to spare, or looking for something fun as a gift, this might be a choice!

使用方法是這樣的, 扭開蓋然後塗上唇, 但圓拱型的設計經過無數次使用後便會扁掉 (看過有博客提及), 然後你想再使用時就很難不會碰到牙齒了. 難道你要用手指塗嗎...? 想都這裡我選擇不再想下去了 (笑).

價錢是不俗的, 包裝很新穎, 香味亦很誘人. 但在我來看, 包裝是令它出名的主因, 若有數十元又想找禮物給朋友的話, EOS潤唇膏的確是不錯的選擇.

Glitter Gal Fuschia - it's bright, it's holographic, it's eye-blinding!//Glitter Gal Fuschia 幻彩指甲油

I met up with Michelle from Cosmetic Cupcake last week and she owns the most enviable nail polish collection :P and she gave me a few nail polishes! I'm so happy to try out the first holographic nail polish in my life - Glitter Gal Fuschia. I could literally stare at the bottle and go oooh and waaahh for half a day.

上星期和 Michelle見面, 她是指甲油專家 :P 收藏量真令人羨慕! 她從澳洲帶了禮物給我, 當然不少得指甲油. 我很高興終於試了人生第一支 "holographic" - 幻彩指甲油 (如翻譯錯誤請指正!). 單看著瓶子都可已用上大半天了, 太漂亮啦.

My eyes almost went blind the instance I looked at my fingers under sunlight. Notice the rainbow sheen inside the bottle!

當我塗完後, 把手放在太陽底下, 眼睛差點盲掉, 幻彩效果很特別! 請留意瓶內的七彩顏色!

This is after 2 coats of nail polish, I'm too lazy to use a base coat and a top coat. And I hardly paint/do my nails ;) I suck at painting my nails and I do it once in a blue moon, but this bottle is definitely a keeper!

基本上是塗了2層便是這樣了, 我是個懶人, 當然沒有試用底油和面油, 還有我很久才會塗一次指甲油的. 不過肯定的是這瓶幻彩指甲油是keep得過的!!

ABAD Day 30: Benefit Dallas blush//"每日一胭脂"系列第30天: Benefit Dallas胭脂

To be honest, I've always felt sympathetic towards Benefit boxes of powders. Coralista and Sugarbomb have got their prime time but for other shades like Dallas and Dandelion, they didn't enjoy the same spotlight. Dallas is one beautiful dusty rose color which have been neglected and underrated in the blush category, and you'll see why.

老實說, 一直以來對Benefit的盒裝胭脂/粉有點同情的感覺. Coralista 和 Sugarbomb 都有它們的 "黃金時間" 但其餘的顏色例如 Dallas 和 Dandelion 則沒有人提及. Dallas 是個深沉一點的玫瑰色, 一直在胭脂界被忽略, 你再看看便知為何我會這麼說的了.

First off, the boxes of powder hold 10-12g of product, which is A LOT (before Bella Bamba was out). They're at the same price with NARS but product amount is TRIPLE. I don't mind the paper box packaging as I won't be carrying my makeup here and there, the paper box adds to the 'collectibles' feeling if you ask me.

首先, Benefit的盒子內有10-12克容量, 其實是極多的 (在Bella Bamba出來之前). 價錢與NARS的胭脂差不多但容量是 3 倍啊! 我不介意紙盒包裝, 我又不會把胭脂帶出外, 所以覺得紙盒包裝甚有風味.

The color swatch doesn't look as dark as in the pan, it's not a bronzer but more of a blush.

試色的顏色很不像盒子裡的顏色吧! 是胭脂不是bronzer 啊, 不要弄錯.

Look how natural it appears after applying onto cheeks!

Intensity: High pigmentation

Finish: Tiny bit of shimmer

Price: $28 USD

Lasting power: 7-8 hours

Repurchase: It lasts forever, I don't think I will run out of it

Overall thoughts: Dallas is a highly underrated shade in my opinion, it shows up to be a warm rose kind of color which should look good on light to medium skin tones. For me it worked wonderfully especially in the winter because it added warmth to the cheeks. As for the price, it has 3 times product than say NARS blushes but is priced the same. You get extremely generous amount of product with decent quality.

回購: 整盒有12克, 應該用不完的

總評: Dallas 實在是被忽略的顏色, 出來的效果是很warm的玫瑰顏色, 在淺至中膚色上是最好看的. 尤其在冬天, Dallas 可以令面頰更 warm. 價錢方面, 與其它牌子差不多價, 但容量則是平時的 3 倍!

ABAD Day 29: NARS Gina//"每日一胭脂"系列第29天: NARS Gina胭脂

On day 29, blush-of-the-day is NARS Gina, a matte orange with no pink undertones. True orange. The rubber compact has turned sticky and glue-y so I taped it up with cellotapes.

第29天, 今天的主角是NARS Gina, 啞光的橙色胭脂, 沒有任何粉紅調, 是絕對的橙色. 由於黑色的橡膠盒開次老化, 變得"癡立立", 所以我用了膠紙包著它.

Even though the color is matte and might look dull on hand, it showed up beautifully and is an instant wake-up blush shade.

在手背的試色看似很沉, 但掃在面上後, 整個look立即變得精神起來.

Intensity: very high pigmentation

Finish: matte

Price: $27 USD

Lasting power: 8-9 hours

Repurchase: yes

Overall thoughts: Don't be terrified by the true orange of Gina, I know there are orange blushes that dull the face but Gina gave me the "pop" of color and perked me up, making me look instantly awake and fresh. It's extremely long-wearing and still wears on the face after an entire day's wear.

總評: 不要被Gina的純橙色嚇掉, 我曾試過一些橙色的胭脂但它們會令面色不好看(像曬乾了那樣), 但Gina就不會, 它的橙色令我看起來即時精神奕奕, 持久度非常令人滿意, 出了街整天之後還在.

ABAD Day 28: Canmake Powder Cheeks Blush in PW20//"每日一胭脂"系列第28天: Canmake PW20 胭脂

Canmake Powder Cheeks blush range holds a variety of colors, but the variety exists within 'pinks' mostly. I picked up PW20 because it is used the most by Lena (model for Canmake). The color is supposedly ideal for creating the innocent angelic pink look.

Canmake 的粉狀胭脂顏色選擇有很多, 但多數顏色都屬於粉紅系. 我選了 PW20 是因為是Lena的常用色, 用來凝造天使粉紅的面頰應該是不錯的.

Flimsy plastic packaging and crappy quality brush aside, the color itself is beautiful and angelic. I found pigmentation to be a bit on the sheer side, the swatch below is after 3-5 swipes.

簡單包裝, 沒有用的掃子暫不提, 顏色是挺漂亮的. 惟不太上色, 下圖的試色是掃了3-5下才出現.

Intensity: Low in pigmentation

Finish: shimmery

Price: $9-10 USD

Lasting power: 3-4 hours

Overall thoughts: The color works nicely, but the flimsy packaging is difficult to open, brush that comes with the blush is of no utility value. Pigmentation is low/sheer. Longevity is lacking.

ABAD Day 27: CARGO Beach Blush in Tenerife//"每日一胭脂"系列第27天: CARGO Tenerife 胭脂

Blush countdown: it's Day 27 of ABAD series already! This is the last CARGO blush to be featured, I promise, I just love their blushes THAT MUCH haha. Tenerife is the matte blush out of the Beach Blush range from CARGO. Somehow I love the names of CARGO blushes, Rome, Prague, Tonga, Cannes, Polynesia, Tenerife, etc don't they make you think of holidayssss and the sun? For me, they do.

倒數階段: 已經來到第27天了, 我發誓是最後一個被提及的CARGO胭脂, 這個是第4個, 可見我對它們的胭脂的喜歡程度吧. Tenerife這個顏色是屬於Beach Blush系列裡的唯一一個啞光的顏色. CARGO胭脂的名字都很令人聯想到渡假: Rome (羅馬), Prague (布拉格), Cannes (康城), Tenerife,

Polynesia, Tonga, 等. 又會有誰不喜歡這些名字呢?

Tenerife is made up of 4 colors: pink coral, peach coral, light bronze, and light beige color. No shimmer at all. Houses 9g of product.

Tenerife 由4種顏色組成: 珊瑚粉紅, 珊瑚蜜桃色, 淡啡, 米色. 沒有閃粉, 容量9克.

Tenerife melted into the skin and adds a natural bronze glow.

Tenerife 的顏色很融入膚色.

I found most CARGO blushes to be very long-wearing, more than most of the other ones from other brands. At $28 for 9g of product, you got decent amount and quality at the same time.

Day 26 of A-Blush-A-Day is going to feature a 'dark horse' for me, (blush-wise XD). I called it a dark horse because there's no way tell it'll look THAT GOOD from judging it in the pan, but I'm glad I swatched it and got it. It's been one of my top favourites ever since I got it.

第26天feature的胭脂是MAC的Jeanius Collection裡的Pink Cult, 我稱這個胭脂作 "爆冷". 原因是, 從表面看這個顏適普通不過, 好像很低沉/不鮮艷, 但我很慶幸有在手背試色, 自從有了這個顏色之後, 它已成為其中一個"賣飛佛".

Pink Cult is a matte, dusty pink color which might look a bit ashy on first glance, but when swatched on the back of hand, it shows up amazingly beautiful (see below), almost like someone is blushing shyly. Pink Cult's color is extremely work-safe and the best part is, this kind of pink is timeless. You can never go wrong with this color in anytime/ages, in my opinion.

Pink Cult comes out totally different from how dusty and muted it looks in the pan, a true winner (dark-horse)! LOL

Today's ABAD features a very very cool pink blush from Japanese drugstore brand Melliesh. As much as I love lilac hues, I've always had a heart for barbie pinks. My blush phase went like this: first the obsession over peaches and oranges, later corals, then lilacs, then pinks and cool pinks...I hope I won't end up with browns/plums or bronzey colors!

The packaging is pretty minimal I'd say, and it feels a bit bulky too!

I almost thought I saw a bit of pale purple tones in this blush, but maybe that's just me.

I applied more than necessary in this pic, LOL. This blush is pretty pigmented with a swipe or two but for some reason the camera couldn't quite capture it, so I had to apply more for photo-taking purposes.

Overall thoughts: The plastic packaging, when removed upon initial use, is pretty but the actual compact is pretty bulky and minimalist = not attractive at all. As for the shade itself, it's quite cool-toned so it might be difficult to work on some skintones. There are 6 colors released in this range (one is a highlighter and another is for contouring), so the remaining 4 shades aren't very diversified colors I'd say.

The third NARS blush to be featured in the series is NARS Luster, which is a shimmery coral orange shade. It's not as orange as Gina, Gina is matte and Luster has shimmer.

CARGO blushes are hard to get, medium-priced, but they're worth the penny. I got their Beach Blush in Sunset Beach when I was visiting Rotterdam in the Netherlands last year. My guy friend spotted a Sephora way earlier than me and told me "Hey there's a Sephora!" So we went in and the SA told me they're having a 25% off, needless to say I located the rack where CARGO was and grabbed Sunset Beach, it's been on my wishlist since FOREVER.

CARGO 的胭脂很難找, 價錢中等, 但絕對值每分每毫. 我在荷蘭的Rotterdam旅行時, 朋友(男的)竟然比我先發現Sephora的存在, 立刻指給我看. 進了店, 店員說現有25% off. 再說嫌多, 我跑到CARGO的櫃, 買下了它 - Sunset Beach. 終於可在wishlist刪去它了!

Sunset Beach consists of 4 color stripes: champagne light beige/yellow; baby pink; brown and peach. The blush carries shimmer but is not overboard with it. Housed in typical CARGO style metal tin with 9g of product.

Sunset Beach內有4色: 香檳/米黃色; 淺粉紅; 啡; 蜜桃色. 帶閃粉不誇張. 以經典CARGO金屬罐載著, 9克容量.

I have swatched Sunset Beach next to Montebello (reviewed here) for comparison. Sunset Beach is a bit darker than Montebello apparently.

Now is the curious part, Sunset Beach swatches so beautifully on hand and in real life on my face but the camera wouldn't quite capture it well, apologies. It shows up exactly the same as the swatch on my arm, faint shimmer and adds a warm glow to my cheeks.

ABAD Day 22: Canmake Powder Cheeks blush in PW16//"每日一胭脂"系列第22天: Canmake PW16 胭脂

Today's featured blush is from Japanese drugstore brand Canmake, they have a comprehensive range of blushes on offer, from cream to powder, duos and stripes-like. I had my eyes on a tawny orange color PW16.

今天featured胭脂是日本開架式品牌 Canmake, Canmake 有很齊全的胭脂種類, 粉狀膏狀, 2色, 4色都有. 我看中的是橙色的"健康顏色" PW16.

It might not be captured here but the blush carries shimmer. Am no fan of the flimsy plastic packaging here. There's also a small synthetic brush attached but it's not that great to use, not pictured here.

可能在相中很難看到, 但PW16是帶有閃粉的. 另外有人造纖維的小掃子, 不太有用.

PW16 gives a tawny and slightly sunburnt color, it worked for me quite well last year but this year I found it made my face look dull, I am considering topping it with a pink blush above.

PW16 的顏色是很陽光的橙色, 去年在我曬黑了的皮膚上就好看, 但今次再試時令我面色看下去很無生氣, 曬乾了的樣子. 我會考慮配合粉紅色的胭脂一起塗, 面色會好看一點.

ABAD Day 21: Jill Stuart Mixed Compact Blush in #10 Sweet Biscuit//"每日一胭脂"系列第21天: Jill Stuart Sweet Biscuit胭脂

This will be the only blush from Jill Stuart to be featured in the A-Blush-A-Day series. I've chosen #10 Sweet Biscuit because from the pic below you can infer that it's been used a lot, the imprint on the blush is gone and there's a dip in the middle. I have yet to see pan but er what can I say? I wish it'll hit pan soon, haha.

Since the individual shades are not showing up that well on the back of my hand, I swatched them on a napkin. The 4 shades in this blush is a pastel orange, pastel baby pink, bright orange red and a cinnamon-like brown.

Overall thoughts: I prefer the Mixed Compact blushes from Jill Stuart over the newest Blush Blossoms (loose powder blushes) because of the former's ease of application and the fun of swirling the shades together. The brush attached with the compact is of decent quality, it's not super super good but it gets the job done pretty well. #10 Sweet Biscuit houses the most unimaginable shades together: pastel orange, bright orange red and cinnamon light-brown, the effect came out pink. It's not extremely pigmented but just 1-2 light swirls and the color shows.

Topeka blush from CARGO cosmetics is a 'light, bronze rose' color that contains slight shimmer.

The blush is packaged in typical metal tin and contains 9g of product, which is pretty much a lot.

CARGO 的 Topeka 胭脂是淡啡紅色的顏色, 包裝則是經典的金屬罐, 有9克容量, 以相同價錢來說的確是頗多.

When swatched on hand it blends well into skin and gives it a natural flush.

掃在皮膚之後可以看到 Topeka 的顏色完全溶入了膚色, 帶很微量的閃, 很自然的啡紅色.

ABAD Day 19: Topshop Cream Blush in Nutmeg//"每日一胭脂"系列第19天: Topshop Nutmeg胭脂膏

Thanks to Lynn who brought me the cream blush in "Flush" from Topshop and got me hooked on it, Elaine has kindly helped me with other shades in this range LOL. This time I"ll be reviewing the shade in Nutmeg.

感謝Lynn給我Topshop 的"Flush", 令我上癮, 而Elaine給我機會試試同系列其它顏色 XD 今天我用到的顏色是"Nutmeg".

Nutmeg looks like a deep cinnamon shade in the pan with red undertones, when swatched it's pretty warm on the cheeks.

Nutmeg 的顏色很像肉桂, 帶點紅色, 塗上面後的顏色偏warm.

Repurchase: I've tried other colors in the range

Overall thoughts: Topshop cream blushes are easy to blend and pigmented, the only gripe is that some of their shades are not that long-lasting, I found Crushed Berry and Nutmeg to be more long-lasting in terms of hours than say, the shade in Flush. Overall I think it's a very decent product.

ABAD Day 18: Shu Uemura Glow-On Blush in M Pink 33B//"每日一胭脂"系列第18天: Shu Uemura M Pink 33B 胭脂

I was not overly impressed by Shu Uemura blushes from the first P Peach 47 I owned (and swapped it away), they're pigmented on fingers/hands but just won't show up on my cheeks. So why did I venture for another blush from Shu? I was looking for pale lilac alternatives and they happened to have a wide color spectrum to choose from. Not a lot of brands offer the wide color variety as Shu.

起初試 Shu Uemura的胭脂時不太impressed, 第一次試的是 P Peach 47 (之後換走了), 在手指/手背上是很上色的, 但不知怎在面上看不到顏色. 那為何我會再試植川秀呢? 是因為它offer的顏色很多, 金紫紅橙粉紅啡都有齊, 並不是每個牌子都有這麼多顏色供選擇的. 我要找紫色, 就自然找到它了.

Here comes the HAPPY BLUSH! I am so glad to have got my hands on this Happy Booster Blush from Physicians Formula. It's said to have happy ingredients in it that would make one happy after applying. The heart-motif print on the blush is to die for! It smells wonderful as well. The shade I got is Rose.

Apart from "Big Apple Blush" shade, Diane has kindly included another NYC Blushable Creme Stick in Plaza Pink in the package, which I am going to review today on Day 16 of ABAD Project.

Repurchase: would love to try 2 shades but those were Limited Edition. So probably not.

Overall thoughts: This stick swatches beautifully yet longevity doesn't match with the pigmentation, it starts to fade after a mere 2-3 hours.

ABAD Day 15: Topshop Cream Blush in Crushed Berry//"每日一胭脂"系列第15天: Topshop Crushed Berry胭脂膏

When I first got Topshop cream blush in "Flush", I immediately googled swatches of the entire range online and decided that I should try "Crushed Berry" given it's a lilac/purple shade (That said, I can't miss any purple/lilac/lavender hues released in blushes! XD). However a closer look online I discovered "Crushed Berry" is "discontinued"? Thanks to Elaine who got me this from Singapore where this shade is still available!

試過Topshop "Flush" 胭脂膏後, 我在Google找尋其餘的顏色時, 發現有紫色系的 "Crushed Berry"啊 (不能錯過任何粉紫色系的顏色XD). 細心看看發現Topshop的網已經沒有了 "Crushed Berry", 幸好Elaine在星加坡給我找到了!

It looks scary and dark in the pan but came out ever so nice...see swatch pics below.

看似很深色, 但出來的效果很nice呢...看看下面的試色圖.

See that "just-in-from-the-snow" glow?! You can't buy it but you can fake it with Topshop "Crushed Berry", haha.

又是那 "剛在雪地進入室內" 面上粉紅的氣息, 現在不用渡假都可以擁有的好面色, 哈哈.

Day 14 of the A-Blush-A-Day Project features TheBalm's Hot Mama Eyeshadow/Blush, which is housed in retro paper box with magnetic flip cover.

第14天介紹的胭脂是 TheBalm 的 Hot Mama 胭脂, 亦可用作眼影使用. 包裝採用復古的圖案, 以紙製成, 開關是磁石的.

The pink carrying a golden sheen almost looks like duo-chrome to me.

帶金色的粉紅看下去很像漸變色.

Finish: Shimmery, to me it's almost duo-chrome like

Lasting power: 7-8 hours

Overall thoughts: Its swatch is so pigmented and is a pretty pink with gold sheen, it's almost similar to NARS Orgasm but not exactly the same I think, the powder is smooth and buttery, easy to pick up using a brush. Notice this product can also be used as eyeshadow as it said. A really pretty blush.

Here comes the second lilac/lavender hue blush I am going to introduce in this series - Benefit I Lotused You Looking. It's from their ages-ago Limited Edition Shangri-Las collection. This, is the first lilac blush I own and use, hence my obsession with lilac/lavender blush started because of it.

這是我第二個介紹的紫色系胭脂 - Benefit 的 I Lotused You Looking, 是屬於很久很久以前的限量系列 (Shangri-Las 系列). 這亦都是我擁有的第一個紫色系胭脂, 隨後的紫色胭脂都是拜它所賜.

This small compact is really the size of an eyeshadow, and houses probably the least amount I've come across for blushes (2.75 g). Yet, I absolutely adore this color.

盒子細小得像眼影般細, 載有應該是最小的胭脂份量 (2.75 g). 不過, 我極喜歡這個顏色!

Notice how the lilac bit brightens up the skin?! It makes the skin glows from within.

留意粉紫色如何令整體皮膚看下去精神得多! 皮膚表面的光澤好像從內面滲出來般.

The blush gives me a just-in-from-the-snow-outside that kind of look.

掃上它便好像"從下雪的室外走進屋內"面上有的粉嫩顏色.

Overall thoughts: Being the first lilac/lavender blush I tried, this blush changed my mind about blush colors. I found that pale lilacs work surprisingly flattering. It imparts the cheeks a 'just=in-from-the-snow' glow and perks up the whole complexion *v* I kid you not, try a pale lilac/lavender blush yourself!

效果: 大致上是啞光的, 但有不顯眼的光澤

Today's featured blush is a Limited Edition, please don't hate me, lol. It's supposed to be more of an highlighting powder than a blush but since the shades in it are quite pigmented and deeper than its counterparts (Rose Diamond and Amber Diamond), I prefer using this as a blush! Don't be scared by how frosty this may look in the pan, if you have experience with Dior's skin shimmer powders, you'll learn that their shimmer is extra-fine and subtle as well.

今天介紹的是限量品, 請不要嬲我, 哈哈. 其實是highlighter多過是胭脂但因它的顏色比highlighter深少少, 顯色度較高, 所以我比較喜歡用它做胭脂. 不要被它的微閃的表面嚇掉, 如果你用過Dior Skin Shimmer powders的話 (Rose Diamond和Amber Diamond), 你應該會知它們的閃粉很微細, 並且很滑.

Finish: Subtle shimmer, not frosty at all

Price: Forgotten, it was ages ago

Repurchase: Yes, wish they would come out with new colors

Overall thoughts: This would be a nice double-duty blush and highlighter. I'm sure there are dupes readily available out in the market like Hard Candy Living Doll, but the shimmer and glow of Pop Diamond is less frosty, more subtle than its counterparts.

First and foremost, I'd like to thank Lynn for bringing me this from Singapore. I have yet to try any makeup from Topshop before this, and I'm pleasantly surprised by this tiny cream blush. Lynn got me the shade in "Flush", which is a peachy coral shade.

首先, 很感謝Lynn由星加坡帶這個給我, 很是意外. 在此之前我還未用過Topshop的妝物, 但這細小的胭脂膏的質感很令人驚嘆. Lynn給我選了 "Flush"這個顏色, 是水蜜桃的珊瑚色來的.

*screams* it looked so pretty on the cheeks when I used it for the first time. From that moment on, "Flush" has been a keen staple in my stash.

*尖叫* 第一次試在面上時實在太靚啦. 由那次起, "Flush"成為我袋內主要的妝物了.

Intensity: Medium-high pigmented, blends easily

Finish: Matte, creamy

Price: Around $10 USD each

Lasting power: Shows sign of fading after 4-5 hours

Overall thoughts: If you have access to Topshop makeup, this would be the one product that you would want to try. The price is a little bit more than drugstore cream blushes. Longevity is an area which leaves certain room to improve. I would recommend this shade, which would look good on anyone, and the shade in Nutmeg, which I will also be reviewing in this series.

ABAD Day 10: NYC Blushable Creme Stick in Big Apple Blush //"每日一胭脂"系列第10天: NYC Big Apple Blush 胭脂膏

A-Blush-A-Day has come to one-third by today! I got this NYC Blushable Creme Stick in Big Apple Blush from Diane, who sent me the same stick in Plaza Pink which I'll review later as well. I have heard about NYC cream blush sticks for a while and thought they should be pretty tiny but they turned out to be pretty huge, containing 8g each!

"每日一胭脂"系列今天已經過了三分一了! Diane不久前寄了這個NYC Big Apple Blush 的胭脂膏給我, 還有同款的 Plaza Pink顏色. 以前聽聞過很多人讚好, 亦以為很細小吧, 怎知一收到便很驚訝, 體積頗大之餘, 還要有8克那麼多!

The cream blush can be twisted upwards.

可扭動的設計.
As you can see from the swatch on arm, application is easy breezy, most importantly, it shows up in just one swipe! The color leans towards a deep rose shade.

下面試色圖可看到掃上這個顏色是多麼的容易和顯色, 顏色偏深玫瑰紅.

Applied on cheeks. It's extremely pigmented yet easy to blend. I'm impressed. I seldom use such bright/dark rosey shades as I thought they would make me look like I have a rash.

在面上推開很容易, 非常上色, 很impressed. 我甚少用這麼深的紅色, 怕出來的效果很像皮膚敏感般.

Intensity: Highly pigmented

Finish: Matte, easy to blend

Price: A few US Dollars, cheap with 8g of product

Lasting power: Starts to fade after 3-4 hours >_<, could do much better in terms of longevity

Repurchase: I'd love to try #Wild Berry and #Pink Flash, but those are LE shades.../_\

Overall thoughts: NYC Blushable Creme Sticks are impressive, it was love-at-first-swatch. I wish it come with more color variety and the lasting power is longer.

Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Silk Eyeshadow #1, #3, #12 & #4 Swatches

Following up on my previous post on Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Intense eyeshadow #7 "Sweet Fire" swatches & review, today I probably did the craziest thing ever. I took the camera with me and walked out of the store with 4 swatches on my hand, lol. So as Justine mentioned that #1 and #3 is not available in Canada (?) I swatched those here, #1 is a blue infused with gold flecks, #3 is a purple also infused with gold flecks, these shadows almost have a duo-chrome sheen to them.

#12 and #4 are swatched for my personal use because I wanted to get greys and the SA told me there are two greys. #4 is a grey with red undertones (gorgeous!) and #12 came out nothing like grey at all. Anyways, the SA confirmed me there are a total of 12 shades available. Hope these swatches help!

ABAD Day 9: NARS Gilda //"每日一胭脂"系列第9天: NARS Gilda 胭脂

Day 9 of A-Blush-A-Day project features NARS Gilda blush, which is a 'coral' described by NARS. As a coral fan, I've always wanted to try Gilda but has never taken the plunge. Anyways, here it is and it looks horrifyingly bright in the pan, lol.

"每日一胭脂"系第9天的焦點在 NARS Gilda上, Gilda 被形容為''珊瑚色''. 作為"珊瑚色''的粉絲, 我打算試這個色很久的了, 但一直也沒有. Gilda 給我的第一印象很鮮豔, 有點害怕很難carry.

Since it's matte, and the shade itself is bright, it almost made me look sunburned.

因為是啞光, 顏色本身都是很sharp的緣故, 令我看起來很似"曬傷了".

Intensity: Very pigmented

Finish: Matte, makes me look a bit sunburned, not sure if it looks nice

Price: $27 USD (Got it on sale though)

Lasting power: 7 hours

Repurchase: Probably not, as the shade is not my favourite...

Overall thoughts: Gilda looks coral-fan-friendly in the pan but it came out making me look a bit sunburnt. Pigmentation and quality lives up to its name though. I just have problems with the shade itself, will give it a few more trials before making my mind up if I should keep it. Hopefully I'll get more tanned in summer and Gilda would work out nicely!

回購: 應該不會, 這類顏色在我膚色上不太好看

總評: Gilda看下去很容易carry, 出來的效果令我好像被太陽曬傷的感覺, 不肯定是好與否. 顯色度及質素都附合NARS胭脂的聲譽. 我只是不太肯定應否繼續用這個顏色, 會多試數次才有決定. 夏天來臨時, 我又會曬黑了, 說不定這個顏色會很好看呢.

ABAD Day 8: MAC Briar Rose Beauty Powder //"每日一胭脂"系列第8天: MAC Briar Rose Beauty Powder

My obsession with lilac/lavender/purple hues in blushes is long documented, yet these colors do not often appear in the major brands of blushes in the market. So when MAC came out with a purple-hued beauty powder in Disney Venomous Villains collection, I KNEW it'd be the lilac/purple blush that I would go for. Purple and lilac is sooooo Maleficient (the character in print)!

在下一向很喜歡(粉)紫色系的胭脂, 但市面上又不是太多選擇. 所以當MAC去年和Disney合作推出的Venomous Villains系列內有Briar Rose這個顏色, 一看便知會喜歡到不得了. 紫色亦和Maleficient (睡公主裡的奸角) 的紫色型像很近似!

Briar Rose is NOT your ordinary pink, coral, peach blush. It's pink with lilac hues!

Briar Rose 絕對不是一般的粉紅, 珊瑚, 水密桃色. 是粉紅帶紫啊!!!!

When put on cheeks, lilac-hued blush brightens up my whole complexion and makes me look shyly blushed ;) I was doubtful about lilac and purples for blushes but once I tried, I am addicted to these hues!

掃左面上後看下去面色好看得多, 起初沒有想過(粉)紫色的胭脂會那麼好看!

Intensity: Moderate-high pigmented, which is nice because beauty powders are supposed to be not pigmented somehow

Finish: Matte

Price: forgotten, but carries 10g of product

Repurchase: Yes since I like lilac and lavender hues

Overall thoughts: The Maleficent packaging/factor aside (which I adore), Briar Rose would look good on skintones which are under NC/NW35. I highly encourage exploring on lilac and lavender hued blushes because they look extremely flattering when used with a light hand. These sort of colors perks one up.

Today's featured blush is one that I have reviewed before: Canmake Cream Cheek #09. It's a cool barbie-pink kind of color which was so apt for creating dolly cheeks. The cream blush is housed in a flimsy plastic packaging and is super light and tiny so it's handy for travel.

今天的spotlight在 Canmake #09 膏狀胭脂上, #09是屬於冷系的barbie粉紅色, 適合用來做娃娃look. 胭脂膏在塑膠盒子裡, 很單薄但很輕, 方面去旅行外帶.

Price: ~$10-11 USD? Canmake packaging never indicates how much product they have.

Lasting power: 4-5 hours, could last longer in my opinion

Repurchase: I love the fact that it's creamy and light to carry it in bags, but if they would come up with more novel colors I'd gladly repurchase.

Overall thoughts: I'm extremely pleased with this color as cool pinks are right up my alley. It's pigmented but needs careful blending work. I'm not a fan of the flimsy plastic packaging though. On a side note, #09 is a unique barbie-pink color which I don't own in my stash when I got this, but the whole range of Canmake cream cheeks could do better in terms of color variety, a lot of shades are the same (e.g. #03, #07 and #08, I can't tell the difference between these.)

總評: 很滿意這類冷系的粉紅色, 它顯色度OK但需要小心推勻. 個人不太喜歡單薄的塑膠包裝. 說開又說, #09 雖是個特別的barbie系粉紅色, 但同系列裡的顏色看起來全都很相似, 尤其是#03, #07, #08, 完全分不開它們, 如果顏色上可以包括多點其它非粉紅系的顏色便好了.

CARGO makes extremely good blushes and I keep being impressed by their quality and range of colors. Yet they're seldom talked of in the beauty blogging world, hence I decided to feature a few of their blushes in the A-Blush-A-Day project. On Day 6 of the ABAD project, I bring you CARGO Suede Blush in Montebello!

如果你有聽過 CARGO的話, 可能知到它們的胭脂很有名. Beauty blogs甚少提及它們, 所以我決定在"每日一胭脂"系列內feature它們. 來到第6 天, 今天介紹Montebello胭脂!

CARGO blushes often come in metal tins, they easily stood out from my stash. Montebello has a marble-like surface made up of coral reds, light pinks, and bronze shades. I don't own anything with a marble-like surface until this.

CARGO 的胭脂多數使用金屬罐剩載, Montebello這顏色令人想起雲石的表面, 由珊瑚粉紅, 淺粉紅, 淡啡顏色組成. 混色胭知我有用過, 但沒有這個雲石般的設計.

The swatch came out with a shimmery pink, which looks gorgeous (also when swatched on skin, see below).

試色出來是帶微閃的粉紅, 掃在面上一樣漂亮.

Dusted on cheeks, I like how warm and the slight coral pink hue it imparts to my cheeks and the healthy glow it adds! Pigmentation is high, color is easy to blend, smooth application and contains a whopping 12 GRAMS!!!

下圖把Montebello掃在面上, 令人看下去很健康的珊瑚紅 + 微閃效果. 顏色很容易出來, 掃得均勻, 還有它有12克!!! 比一般胭脂還要多出很多呢.

Intensity: high in pigmentation

Finish: shimmery, smooth finish which adds a healthy glow

Price: $19 (got it on sale price)

Lasting power: lasted the whole day, 8-9 hours at least

Repurchase: YES, in other shades

Overall thoughts: CARGO blushes never disappoint me, no matter it is pigmentation, application, amount of product, range of colors available. Their blushes are worth the talk and the hype and the rave, though not many of their products have been talked about but they truly deserves some mention and rave!

總評: CARGO 的胭脂從沒有令我失望, 無論是顏色選擇, 使用容易程度, 上色度, 容量方面都很理想. 即使CARGO 的產品甚少被提及, 但絕對值得令人rave 的!
