The long overdue mega blog sale is HERE finally! I figured that these little pretties could use better homes since I hardly use them, if not at all. The blog sale is open to everyone in the world, I'll try to ship within the next few days after I received payment.

1. Ships both local and international, via airmail.

2. All Prices are listed in USD $. Only PayPal gift payments are accepted. I will give you instructions on how to pay with PayPal gift if needed.

3. Shipping is $4 for the first item and $0.5 for each additional item in your purchase order. Add another $2 if you would like to send by REGISTERED airmail (i.e. with tracking number).

4. All sales final. No returns. No exchanges.

5. Prices of items and shipping non-negotiable. I don't open a shipping company and ship for free.

Review: DiorShow Iconic Mascara

received this mascara sample from Sheila during the beauty blogger meetup swap in London. It's a sample sized mascara and contains 4ml of product.

Here's what the bristles look like, a big thumbs up for the dense bristles!

The bristles might not be well-captured in the photo, but they are not aligned in a parallel manner. Towards the tip of the comb, the bristles kind of make a turn and swirl their way to the top (if that makes sense at all, lol).

Here's how my lashes looked like after application. I lined my eyes with Stila x Barbie eyeliner pot in Cobalt Clutch, which is an electric blue. I didn't expect this mascara to do a lengthening job, but it did lengthen it a bit.

I woke up with a sleepy left eye (does this happen to everyone? or some people?), I do find it weird, sometimes my eyes are of equal shape but sometimes they're not. I curled my lashes with a Shu Uemura lash curler.

Immediate thought:

The consistency of this mascara is pretty thin, i.e. no sticky paste or fibre-like threads hang on to the comb when I pull it out from the tube, which is good news, it means less messier application! (unlike Majolica Majorca lash expander's comb...but more on that in a separate post, maybe). However, the consistency is so thin that I didn't feel like my lashes are well coated. It didn't volumize either. Yet, the bright side is, its so thin that it doens't clump your lashes, I don't need a lash comber (those mini ones) to comb the clumped lashes.

What it says on Sephora's product description:

"A mascara with an innovative oblique brush that curls and defines lashes. "

Well, there you are. This statement is very well said, this product did what it claimed to. It doesn't claim to volumize, doesn't claim to lengthen. I like the design of the brush that prevents your lashes getting clumped.

HOWEVER, look at how it turned out after 6 hours:

The mascara had fallouts and these deposited in the undereye area, which made me look like a racoon. I found this happening to my Majolica Majorca Lash Expander too. But hey, it's Dior, so you're not expecting it to have fallouts, eh?

Verdict:

Won't purchase it in full size because of the fallout issue. But the brush design is worth checking out when hunting for HG mascaras in future!

I'm mourning for my palette...:(

I really want it, but now I can't use it (not even once).

Review: Barbie Loves Stila Collection Smudge Pot in Cobalt Blue

Ever since Barbie Cosmetics have been launched in Asia by Mattel, Stila has been silent on their release of Barbie Loves Stila collection (the one with the 12-color palette, not the collection with Barbie metal tins, if you know what I'm talking about lol). They even changed the Barbie collection into this type of packaging:

With no sign of Barbie appearing, but the shades are the same color. They name it differently though: the blue smudge pot should be called "Cobalt Clutch" and the purple one should be "Purple Pumps". But due to copyright issues of Barbie Cosmetics counter, I think Stila cannot show their makeup with any sign of Barbie on the cover or in the product names (even the paper boxes that come with these smudge pots). I was disappointed because all I wanted was the blue-eyelined Barbie on the lid of the smudge pot and now they don't sell it here! But then I thought, it would be quite ridiculous to have someone CP them for me from the US just because I need the Barbie packaging! The result? I got these smudge pots from our local counter and asked someone to CP the Barbie original palette for me in Canada.

So back to the topic, the blue smudge pot is renamed Electric Blue here and the purple one is named Ultraviolet (boringggg names). I didn't notice what the new name for Little Black Dress is, but I'm sure it won't be anything witty.

Yet I'd love to say that I am in love with this electric blue liner now and have gotten compliments each time I wear it (seriously)!

I am also addicted to blue mascaras lately!! Sadly the Benefit one is quite pricey, I was looking to Shiseido Maquillage but they don't have electric blue colored mascara, they have metallic navy blue (-_-)'' Oh well...

I have also worn MAC DSquared Sculpt & Shape in this photo, but I'll save it for another full-face review later.

Review: Stila Major Lash Mascara

It's a definite no-no!!! I used this today on my curled lashes, and at first I thought this stayed pretty well on the lashes, but NO!!!! After an hour the 'small particles' from the mascara deposited on my undereye area, giving me racoon/panda eyes, and I had to swipe it away and reapply some concealer, and I did this a few times for the day! I didn't ask for waterproof, volumizing, lengthening from this mascara, but this is definitely a letdown even for an average mascara. Poooof, this is so going to the trash can!! (In fact, it already had gone to the trash can. I"m lucky enough that this is a sample that I have.)

So, stay away from this mascara!
