The brightest blush in my stash? REALLY! Canmake Powder Cheeks in PW30

I checked. It's been ages since the last time I talked about BLUSH. As a proud blush fiend, I have talked about a new blush each day for over 30 days (see "A Blush A Day" Project I've done HERE and HERE. Click on the tags under the two posts if you're a blush fiend interested to learn more). In fact, I don't think I can repeat such a project now, because 1) I think my stash has almost every color, tone, finish of blush there can be; 2) I don't get THAT excited about blush anymore, don't ask me how it happened, lol. 

Spending too much time browsing the drugstore racks randomly Curiosity had landed on me one day and I thought: "hey I don't have THIS color at home!" and off it went with my money in the wallet. I don't own NARS Exhibit A nor Taj Mahal, nor MAC Bite of an Apple, for your reference. And besides, who would have thought a Japanese drugstore brand would step up in their color options and offer such a daring, bold, flamingo-looking shade? And besides, it costs less than $100 HKD (can't remember), so why not........

Chanel Joues Contraste in #74 Ultra Rose and Poudre Lumiere Nacree Shimmer Glow Powder swatches

My world has just toppled over when I saw these two new beauties from Chanel - the new Joues Contraste in a super cotton candy pink and a shimmering champagne-peachy highlighting powder. Both products are like my dream colors. I can't live without pink blushes nowadays and who can say no to a peachy highlighter seriously? Haven't seen this at the counters? Fret not, here comes the swatches.

Daily staples I can't live without (Spring 2012)

It has been quite a while I have posted about my monthly/seasonal favorites - forgive me for the absence. But this time I'm back with even more promising products, which have earned a daily staple status in my beauty routine. I tried my best to short list them down to the products I use to create a 'minimum' face - that is, the minimal number of items I have been using lately for my to-go look. ABAD Day 30: Benefit Dallas blush//"每日一胭脂"系列 第30天: Benefit Dallas胭脂

To be honest, I've always felt sympathetic towards Benefit boxes of powders. Coralista and Sugarbomb have got their prime time but for other shades like Dallas and Dandelion, they didn't enjoy the same spotlight. Dallas is one beautiful dusty rose color which have been neglected and underrated in the blush category, and you'll see why.

老實說, 一直以來對Benefit的盒裝胭脂/粉有點同情的感覺. Coralista 和 Sugarbomb 都有它們的 "黃金時間" 但其餘的顏色例如 Dallas 和 Dandelion 則沒有人提及. Dallas 是個深沉一點的玫瑰色, 一直在胭脂界被忽略, 你再看看便知為何我會這麼說的了.

First off, the boxes of powder hold 10-12g of product, which is A LOT (before Bella Bamba was out). They're at the same price with NARS but product amount is TRIPLE. I don't mind the paper box packaging as I won't be carrying my makeup here and there, the paper box adds to the 'collectibles' feeling if you ask me.

首先, Benefit的盒子內有10-12克容量, 其實是極多的 (在Bella Bamba出來之前). 價錢與NARS的胭脂差不多但容量是 3 倍啊! 我不介意紙盒包裝, 我又不會把胭脂帶出外, 所以覺得紙盒包裝甚有風味.

The color swatch doesn't look as dark as in the pan, it's not a bronzer but more of a blush.

試色的顏色很不像盒子裡的顏色吧! 是胭脂不是bronzer 啊, 不要弄錯.

Repurchase: It lasts forever, I don't think I will run out of it

Overall thoughts: Dallas is a highly underrated shade in my opinion, it shows up to be a warm rose kind of color which should look good on light to medium skin tones. For me it worked wonderfully especially in the winter because it added warmth to the cheeks. As for the price, it has 3 times product than say NARS blushes but is priced the same. You get extremely generous amount of product with decent quality.

總評: Dallas 實在是被忽略的顏色, 出來的效果是很warm的玫瑰顏色, 在淺至中膚色上是最好看的. 尤其在冬天, Dallas 可以令面頰更 warm. 價錢方面, 與其它牌子差不多價, 但容量則是平時的 3 倍!

ABAD Day 29: NARS Gina//"每日一胭脂"系列 第29天: NARS Gina胭脂

On day 29, blush-of-the-day is NARS Gina, a matte orange with no pink undertones. True orange. The rubber compact has turned sticky and glue-y so I taped it up with cellotapes.

第29天, 今天的主角是NARS Gina, 啞光的橙色胭脂, 沒有任何粉紅調, 是絕對的橙色. 由於黑色的橡膠盒開次老化, 變得"癡立立", 所以我用了膠紙包著它.

Even though the color is matte and might look dull on hand, it showed up beautifully and is an instant wake-up blush shade.

在手背的試色看似很沉, 但掃在面上後, 整個look立即變得精神起來.

Intensity: very high pigmentation

Finish: matte

Lasting power: 8-9 hours

Repurchase: yes

Overall thoughts: Don't be terrified by the true orange of Gina, I know there are orange blushes that dull the face but Gina gave me the "pop" of color and perked me up, making me look instantly awake and fresh. It's extremely long-wearing and still wears on the face after an entire day's wear.

ABAD Day 28: Canmake Powder Cheeks Blush in PW20//"每日一胭脂"系列 第28天: Canmake PW20 胭脂

Canmake Powder Cheeks blush range holds a variety of colors, but the variety exists within 'pinks' mostly. I picked up PW20 because it is used the most by Lena (model for Canmake). The color is supposedly ideal for creating the innocent angelic pink look.

Canmake 的粉狀胭脂顏色選擇有很多, 但多數顏色都屬於粉紅系. 我選了 PW20 是因為是Lena的常用色, 用來凝造天使粉紅的面頰應該是不錯的.

Flimsy plastic packaging and crappy quality brush aside, the color itself is beautiful and angelic. I found pigmentation to be a bit on the sheer side, the swatch below is after 3-5 swipes.

簡單包裝, 沒有用的掃子暫不提, 顏色是挺漂亮的. 惟不太上色, 下圖的試色是掃了3-5下才出現.

Overall thoughts: The color works nicely, but the flimsy packaging is difficult to open, brush that comes with the blush is of no utility value. Pigmentation is low/sheer. Longevity is lacking.

ABAD Day 27: CARGO Beach Blush in Tenerife//"每日一胭脂"系列 第27天: CARGO Tenerife 胭脂

Blush countdown: it's Day 27 of ABAD series already! This is the last CARGO blush to be featured, I promise, I just love their blushes THAT MUCH haha. Tenerife is the matte blush out of the Beach Blush range from CARGO. Somehow I love the names of CARGO blushes, Rome, Prague, Tonga, Cannes, Polynesia, Tenerife, etc don't they make you think of holidayssss and the sun? For me, they do.

倒數階段: 已經來到第27天了, 我發誓是最後一個被提及的CARGO胭脂, 這個是第4個, 可見我對它們的胭脂的喜歡程度吧. Tenerife這個顏色是屬於Beach Blush系列裡的唯一一個啞光的顏色. CARGO胭脂的名字都很令人聯想到渡假: Rome (羅馬), Prague (布拉格), Cannes (康城), Tenerife,

Polynesia, Tonga, 等. 又會有誰不喜歡這些名字呢?

Tenerife is made up of 4 colors: pink coral, peach coral, light bronze, and light beige color. No shimmer at all. Houses 9g of product.

Tenerife 由4種顏色組成: 珊瑚粉紅, 珊瑚蜜桃色, 淡啡, 米色. 沒有閃粉, 容量9克.

Tenerife melted into the skin and adds a natural bronze glow.

Tenerife 的顏色很融入膚色.

Intensity: Medium-high pigmentation

Finish: Matte

Overall thoughts: Tenerife is a nice natural blush shade that adds a natural 'bronze' hue to your cheeks. Since it doesn't contain shimmer/sparkles, the effect is natural. I found most CARGO blushes to be very long-wearing, more than most of the other ones from other brands. At $28 for 9g of product, you got decent amount and quality at the same time.

總評: 如果你希望看下去有健康膚色, Tenerife 的效果很自然, 因為沒有閃粉. CARGO的胭脂總括來說是較持久 (對比起大部分牌子). $28美元可以質量 + 份量同時兼得, 的確是很理想的.

ABAD Day 26: MAC Pink Cult blush//"每日一胭脂"系列 第26天: MAC Pink Cult 胭脂

Day 26 of A-Blush-A-Day is going to feature a 'dark horse' for me, (blush-wise XD). I called it a dark horse because there's no way tell it'll look THAT GOOD from judging it in the pan, but I'm glad I swatched it and got it. It's been one of my top favourites ever since I got it.

第26天feature的胭脂是MAC的Jeanius Collection裡的Pink Cult, 我稱這個胭脂作 "爆冷". 原因是, 從表面看這個顏適普通不過, 好像很低沉/不鮮艷, 但我很慶幸有在手背試色, 自從有了這個顏色之後, 它已成為其中一個"賣飛佛".

Pink Cult is a matte, dusty pink color which might look a bit ashy on first glance, but when swatched on the back of hand, it shows up amazingly beautiful (see below), almost like someone is blushing shyly. Pink Cult's color is extremely work-safe and the best part is, this kind of pink is timeless. You can never go wrong with this color in anytime/ages, in my opinion.

Pink Cult 的顏色很像 '塵' 一般, 低沉, 一點也不鮮艷. 但在手背/面上出來的顏色是驚人的好看, 真的很似在害羞時面上會有的顏色那種. 非常適合返工, 還有, 這種粉紅色是不會 go out of style 的. 永遠都不會不合時.

Overall thoughts: Pink Cult is a timeless pink, it's the go-to blush to wear if you can't decide on what color to go for on any day. Since it's matte, and the shade is amazingly flattering on lighter skin tones, it's definitely work-safe. Pink Cult comes out totally different from how dusty and muted it looks in the pan, a true winner (dark-horse)! LOL

回購: 以顏色來說, 是絕對會的

總評: Pink Cult 的顏色是無論任何時候, 地點都會適合使用, 很flexible. 由於它亦是啞光, 所以都適合上班族. 每當我不肯定用那個顏色時, 用 Pink Cult 就絕對不會錯. 出來的顏色完全不同光看它表面的低沉粉紅色, 簡單來說就是我遇過最 "爆冷" (勝出) 的顏色!

ABAD Day 25: Melliesh blush in #03//"每日一胭脂"系列 第25天: Melliesh 03 胭脂

Today's ABAD features a very very cool pink blush from Japanese drugstore brand Melliesh. As much as I love lilac hues, I've always had a heart for barbie pinks. My blush phase went like this: first the obsession over peaches and oranges, later corals, then lilacs, then pinks and cool pinks...I hope I won't end up with browns/plums or bronzey colors!

今天的文介紹日本開架品牌Melliesh. 雖然紫色調的胭脂是我的至愛, 但barbie的粉紅顏色我是絕對喜歡的. 次序大概是這樣的: 我先喜歡蜜桃/橙色, 然後是珊瑚色, 接著是紫色, 然後到粉紅...希望我不會喜歡上啡色/深紅那些顏色吧!

The packaging is pretty minimal I'd say, and it feels a bit bulky too!

I almost thought I saw a bit of pale purple tones in this blush, but maybe that's just me.

我總是覺得這個顏色帶粉紫色調...但可能是我看錯吧.

I applied more than necessary in this pic, LOL. This blush is pretty pigmented with a swipe or two but for some reason the camera couldn't quite capture it, so I had to apply more for photo-taking purposes.

在下圖看到的顏色都是掃得太多才會這樣的. 胭脂本身掃1-2下已經非常顯色, 但相機不太能捕捉, 所以為了影相效果而塗多了.

Overall thoughts: The plastic packaging, when removed upon initial use, is pretty but the actual compact is pretty bulky and minimalist = not attractive at all. As for the shade itself, it's quite cool-toned so it might be difficult to work on some skintones. There are 6 colors released in this range (one is a highlighter and another is for contouring), so the remaining 4 shades aren't very diversified colors I'd say.

總評: 透明塑膠包裝比較單調和厚, 老實說不太討好. 顏色方面, 這類粉紅不是每個人都能夠carry的. 雖然Melliesh胭脂系列有6種顏色 (1款用來作highlight, 另1款用來作瘦面效果), 其餘4種色的選擇不夠多.

ABAD Day 24: NARS Luster //"每日一胭脂"系列 第24天: NARS Luster胭脂

The third NARS blush to be featured in the series is NARS Luster, which is a shimmery coral orange shade. It's not as orange as Gina, Gina is matte and Luster has shimmer.

第三個介紹的NARS胭脂是Luster, 是帶閃粉的珊瑚橙色. Gina 是100%橙色, 但Gina是啞光的, Luster 帶閃和有輕微的偏紅色調.

Overall thoughts: I'm glad I went for Luster, it's a coral leaning more towards orange - just my cup of tea. It shows up more leaning towards pink on me though, but I'm amazed at how long lasting it is after a whole day's wear.

總評: 很幸運選了Luster, 珊瑚色偏橙 - 正是我杯茶. 在面上比較粉紅一點. 不過能夠維持一整日已經很好.
