I'm not gonna lie, my mom introduced me to this beauty oil a few years ago when a friend of her came back from Australia handed this oil to her. Having a problem-free skin at that time, I used it once in a blue moon on the occasional acne on my forehead.
And then last year when my skin started to act up (it still is now), I asked Michelle to get me a bottle of this when she came to HK for a trip. Close to finishing this oil now, I've declared it as an indispensable beauty staple for night time regimen.
My skin is dry, partly congested, partly broken out and has an uneven surface. The next morning when I woke up, my skin was smoother and the redness have toned down considerably. I also had a feeling that this oil helped to lighten up the scars considerably. In winter months you might consider adding a moisturizer after using the oil, but in summer months I felt that using this alone will do.
I can't vouch for its anti-aging benefits as I've only used it for a rather short period of time, but I cast a vote of confidence to this product due to its simple and only ingredient: certified organic Rose Hip Oil. It's simple, effective and won't cause burden to my already congested skin.
The oil is rather orange in color but do not fear, it doesn't makes my skin turn yellow. However if your pillow is light colored, you might wanna change it to a dark colored one. It might leave some traces as you toss and turn in your beauty sleep. Whatever the color is, as long as the stuff works (and not artificially colored), it doesn't bother me. Once applied, it doesn't just disappear, your face will have a slight film of natural oil protecting it, but it's very lightweight. Once I tried wiping my nose with a tissue the next morning and the tissue will have slight orange tint on it. Nothing major but you might want to know.
The oil also smells very distinctively of er.....(pine) nuts. The scent just come naturally I think. If you like the smell of botanical stuff this might probably be your cup of tea. I personally love the nutty scent.
The product is said to lighten appearance of scars, acne, wrinkles, stretch marks, dry and sun-damaged skin. I've used on my acne, scarred and dry skin and the results are divine. I highly recommend picking a bottle of this up when you visit Australia. I think they also ship internationally. This thing is hard to get hold of outside the country and it's recommended that you use this up after opening for 6 months. Mine has been opened for 9+ months and is on its last legs (it'll appear in my empties post in September).
Bottom line: if you haven't tried using face oils, it's about time to make a dive. Give it a week or two and decide if your skin likes oils, most do and will thank you for it!
Acne scars has became one of the common skin diesease which require extensive treatment, I would recommend Scar Formula a scar scream made from roots of panax ginseng.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of rose hip oil too, but I only use this on my face during winter. I didn't know that it could have such a great effect on congested skin. I always looked at it as an oil serum to boost hydration with a night cream. I'll try and see if rose hip oil has any effect on lightening the appearance of scars, acne, wrinkles, stretch marks, dry and sun-damaged skin.
ReplyDeleteNatural oils is better for congested skin due to its simplistic ingredients list I think (in this case, this product has nothing other than organic rose hip oil, lol) so there's less "crap" or chemicals applied on skin, hope this makes sense!
DeleteI also think that natural oils have fatty acids or the components are much more similar to that of human skin than chemicals imitating the "Cell structure" of skin...idk LOL
I haven't tried any rose hip oil before. Curious about this!
ReplyDeleteLiz there's a mini bottle I know from trilogy (sold in a sampler set), and I"m trying their rose hip oil atm, it's a great one!) if you're interested :)
DeleteShermanC is a friend of mine and he suggested this rosehip oil. I have never tried this one but I have heard about it and it had lots of positive reviews.
