Clarins White Plus Total Luminescent Pearl-to-Cream cleanser, Brightening Soft Aqua-Milk review

Clarins had been a keeper in my books ever since I tried their hero BB Cream. A while ago I've been given these two Clarins products to test, and today I'll be sharing my thoughts and verdicts with you: they are the Pearl-to-Cream Brightening Cleanser, and Brightening Soft Aqua-milk, both from the newly revamped White Plus Total Luminescent Line!

I've used this product before the White Plus HP line got revamped - read about it HERE. The new White Plus Total Luminescent line had incorporated extra ingredients that are beneficial to the skin - including Sandspurry Extract (deal with melanin and dark spots, uneven skintone), Ginkgo Biloba Extract (deals with yellowish skin), Hyaluronic Acid (tackles dull skin lacking in radiance).

This Pearl-to-Cream cleanser is meant to achieve a brightening effect for your skin, removing dirt and restoring luminescence. Here's what the product description says:

Closer look at the ingredients list:

The cleanser comes in a sleek squeezy tube with a flip-open cap, it has 125ml and a tiny drop goes a longggg way.

The cleanser has a pearly sheen to it (hence the name Pearl-to-Cream), and the good news is: it's a foamy cleanser! I love foam cleansers because they make my skin feel squeaky clean. Here's how it looks fresh from the tube:

Add water and rub with your palms: (here I rub on the back of my hand)

The foam is not super dense like mousse, it's translucent kind of foam. It's gentle enough to wash off dirt on your skin. The product also carries a rather intense floral scent - of which I like.

After cleansing, skin instantly appears translucent and brightened, thanks to the magic of Ginkgo Biloba extract. I enjoy using this cleanser during mornings, because of the nice brightening boost effect it did to my skin! The foam lathers extremely well, and a tiny drop of the pearl cleanser will suffice for the whole face, this tube I imagine, could last me anywhere from 4-5 months. With continuous use, I believe it could lessen the pigmented spots on my skin which resulted from breakouts, since I see an instant brightening effect.

Another product also from the revamped line, was the Brightening Soft Aqua-milk. I'm a huge junkie for toners. I use them like anytime - to prep my skin before makeup application, after makeup removal, when I need extra hydration I pour toners onto cotton pads...the use of toners are ENDLESS.

This Aqua-milk has a slightly more thick consistency than your usual toner, as pointed out in the product description - this is catered for dry skins. Toners for dry skins usually carries a thicker consistency. I have dry skin but I like toners that are instantly absorbed, and I have better luck with toners that are watery. I'm glad this toner can still be happily absorbed on my dry skin.

Similar to the Pearl-to-Cream cleanser, this toner aims to even out skin tone, brighten and restores a smooth texture. Closer look at the ingredients here:

The hefty bottle weighs 200ml and the directions ask you to shake well before use.

This toner bears a milky color, hence the name 'Aqua-milk'. Upon application, my skin felt smooth to touch, moisturized and it looks much more radiant. I'm hoping to soak a few cotton pads in this aqua milk and put them on my face as a whitening mask - I'll report later. For those who apply makeup regularly, you may find your skin getting more 'yellowish', I highly recommend the cleanser above and this toner to combat dullness. As a person with dry-skin, I'm always told that I need to focus on getting it hydrated first, and do not touch whitening products of any sort since the latter will make the skin more 'weak' and dry. Finally, there's a brightening /whitening solution for dry skinned folks!

The White Plus Total Luminescent line is now available at counters - don't forget to check out the Multi-Perfection BB Cream as well, it's a must-have for summer and a winner BB Cream!

  2. I'm really starting to fall in love with Clarins. Both the makeup and skincare seem to be solid. We don't have the whitening line here in Canada but I'm using a day cream from them that I like a lot. The Lotus Oil for balancing oily skin is next on my lemming list. :)
