TALIKA sets foot at Facesss, LAB Concept!

Fans of French skincare & body care expert brand TALIKA would be excited to know they are opening up a new store at LAB Concept, Admiralty. I have been fascinated by the brand ever since their "Smile & Kiss" Lip Plumping & Teeth Whitening came into my radar as a beauty blogger! They're introducing a new product - a slimming machine operated with ultra red light waves and ultrasound. Seriously?

A facial treatment experience at FLAWLESS urban spa

Stepping into FLAWLESS Urban Spa for the second time, the first time being their opening party, I could feel the cozy ambiance there this time around. I felt like I had walked into a sanctuary and apothecary.

This week, I had the pleasure to attend the soft opening of FLAWLESS - a beauty haven situated in the heart of Central. I called it a haven not because of the possibility of shopping variety, but the broad spectrum of beauty-related services it offers. FLAWLESS indeed is a place I would love to turn back to anytime - for bad hair days, for important dates/nights out, birthdays preparation, days when I need a pick-me-up, under the weather...you name it.

Uniqlo Flagship store opening in heart of Causeway Bay NOW!

On Thursday 25th April the Uniqlo flagship store opening at LEE Theatre in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. The store unveiled at the heart of the shopping district and is 3-storey high, once you stepped in you could easily spend an hour there! I remember the days when I traveled to Japan with my family, we bought back tons of Uniqlo items, bright colors, comfy fitting, Uniqlo has it all. 

Reach the highest for your skin with La Prairie

La Prairie is a luxuriant skincare brand originating from Switzerland. It surely belongs to the top-tier brand among the skincare market, more expensive than the double Cs, and it's highly exclusive. I was so honored to be invited to the launch of their new Cellular Power Serum. Guess where the event is:

It's Sky100 Tower on Kowloon side of Hong Kong. Yes, who can go higher than that? Only La Prairie! The launch took place at the foyer of 100th Floor of Sky100 building. Behold your breath when scrolling down the gorgeous seaviews and pictures from up on cloud nine!

Ok, enough sightseeing and let's talk about the the launch. 

 

La Prairie had invited Peter Find - the executive chef at the Ritz Carlton hotel to teach us about super-foods that help to enhance your skin. Scroll down and prepare to drool. Hello caviar, fresh seaweed, strawberries, red grapes and salmon!

The amazing part of the snacks he made is that they're all bite-sized! Absolutely guilt-free indulgence and every bite is filled with skin-powering anti-aging elements! 

Now coming to the star of this launch - the Cellular Power Serum on the left. 

It is the latest technology breakthrough by the scientists at La Prairie. It is formulated with Swiss Snow Algae, Phyto Stem Cell Extract, Tissue Guidance Matrix and Skin Renewal Peptide. The powerful ingredients are sourced from Giant Knotweed, Blue Microalgae (hence the slightly blue tint in the serum you are about to see later), Heart Leaf Globe Daisy, Blue Lotus and Resvertrol. 

The new serum is targeted for first lines on the skin. It offers protection and defense by activating the skin's  regeneration and recovery ability. The powerful ingredients will help the skin to fortify its strength and resilience towards aging elements we encounter in the environment.

Now let me show you the actual serum and my thoughts on it. The bottle is silver in color and comes in a 50ml bottle. I used two pumps for my whole face after applying my toner and before moisturizer. It sinks in quickly and doesn't leave a trace. My skin instantly felt smoother. The blue 'windows' on the bottle allows you to see the inside. Look at the last two photos I took, once the serum was applied, the surface of my hand became smoother and the area where I applied the serum - the surface lines became almost invisible, say if you compared with the lower part of my hand in the same pic. The complex formula of this serum helps the skin to reconstruct and boost its immunity to anti-aging elements and help to fight aging.

Bottomline: Amazing product that tackles the effect of first lines and gives your skin an extra immunity and anti-aging boost. If you're wondering what to get for Mother's Day, this will be it.

Orient Express by Giordano Ladies S/S 2013 Highlights

I was intrigued by the Orient Express train back in High School due to a travelogue we were told to read for literature class. It takes you through Europe to Istanbul in Turkey, and one can't but imagine the journey and the sights to see. Giordano, a local clothing brand, had taken inspiration from the signature train journey onto their spring/summer collections. 

The collection comprises simplistic and light-wash colors. Beige, sand which symbolizes earth and dust, silver, glitters, black represents the galaxy when you look out to the European sky on the train at night, digital prints and wine red stands for exoticism of the East.

I've had my eye on this trench coat, made of thin fabric and is button-less on the outside. This coat is HK$1,250.

This dress is lightly scooped around the neck and is perfect as a clean-cut summer wardrobe addition.

Let your feet breathe at new GEOX flagship store @Central

The other week I scurried to a new store opening in the heart of Central - why, it's none other than GEOX. If you don't know yet, GEOX is famous for shoes that can 'breathe'. That night, the president of GEOX Mario Moretti Polegato, designer Patrick Cox and actress Tavia Yeung celebrated the store opening.

If I have to pick, autumn is my favourite time of the year. Minus the heat and sweat from summer, comes the breeze and first chill as the weather slowly steps into Autumn. I was lucky enough to be able to preview their new collection for Fall/Winter 2012, way before the slightest temperature drop in the city.
