TALIKA Lipocils Expert Eyelash Conditioning Gel Review

I hesitate to say such a phrase on this blog, BUT this product really changed my life. I already bought a backup, hahahaha. This legendary product is none but a lash conditioning and growth serum called Lipocils Expert from a French brand TALIKA.

I've scooted to various Sasa stores and looked at its range, there's a Lipocils eyelash serum by TALIKA and is decidedly different than Lipocils Expert. The regular Lipocils is for lengthening, thickening of sparse lashes, and repairing weak/damaged lashes. Lipocils Expert is for growth, strengthening of lashes, and enhancing their curl. It also makes your lashes restore its pigmentation (aka more visible).

The product has 10ml and is enough to last for a few months, depending on how diligent you are. I've tested this for 3 months and have positive results already standing at 1-month interval. The results had me so excited that I almost wanted to scream OMG at the bathroom mirror.

The application wand is a fusion between a mascara wand + concealer wand. The foam-tip is used for precise application of the lash serum at the bases/roots of the lashes where it encourages growth. The mascara-like bristles is to spread the serum evenly across every part and every strand of lashes. You can use on both upper and lower lashes.

The product can be used both day or night after your skincare regimen. I treat this more of a skincare item than makeup since it promotes lash growth. If you wish to apply makeup, use this lash serum before anything, unless you want your makeup bits to contaminate the insides of the lash serum tube!

I've used it for 3 months already on my upper lashes (at night only since I"m lazy can you tell), at just after 1 month's interval I already seen longer lashes. I still have the odd lash falling off here and there but it's definitely less frequent than before. This product gets a thumbs-up from me. The only down side? A bit pricey. Priced at HK$370, the product could last you at least 6 months, you should consume this product within 12 months of opening. I can't wait until mine is finished and I already bought a backup, because it is THAT awesome.

I've also looked into the lash serum market and found a few produced by other brands, if the sales come through I'll be trying those next. However I"m skeptical if other brands' lash serum really do anything since this one by TALIKA has been shown by lab researches that lashes really lengthen and become darker in color (more visible). In fact the "before and after usage" images are shown in the product box/leaflet (not shown above).
If I ended up trying other lash serums in future I'd be sure to make a comparison of them! But for now, I must say I'm darn impressed by this lash serum.

  1. Thank you for the review! I have only used the regular Talika product and haven't heard of this one. You are making me want to try this one. I've had good results with the L'Oreal one and it's quite inexpensive but I love trying new things.

  2. Sounds really amazing. I keep seeing this product in the ANA duty free catalogue and always wondered if it worked. Thanks for the review... it's hard to find lash serums that actually work.

    1. Hello Yuming! There's a duo pack (2ml tube x 2 in a box I think). I always have a gut feeling that anything from duty free catalogue ought to be promising products LOL

  5. Great review! :D I think lash serums are really interesting but I am scared to use them, since some can cause iris colours to change a bit :(
I am a new follower on your blog :D

    1. Thanks for visiting Ashesela K! I think with careful usage the serum should be applied on the tips of lashes instead of the inner eye :)

  6. Eeee I'm so glad it works for you! I've always wanted to try a lash growth serum, but they're often pretty pricey and I just don't know if they'll really do anything. Gotta take a closer look at this one!

    1. I've noticed that AVANCE (Japanese drugstore brand?), Heroine Makee, and DejaVu had came out with their own lash serums lately. Oh and MAVALA from Switzerland also has one :) They're cheaper than TALIKA but haven't tried them!

  7. That’s awesome! It’s good to hear that this eyelash serum is worth its price. I’d love to see the before-after photo of your lashes. It seems like it really did a wonder on your eyelashes after barely three months of use. Thanks for sharing!
