Gift ideas for holiday

Christmas is just around the corner and if you've been wondering what are some good gifts for your besties (or treats for yourself, like the TATCHA set below), look no further than here:

Here I present you the Kagayaki Holiday Collection from TATCHA, the luxury skincare brand inspired by all things Japanese:

The set is neatly tucked inside a wooden box, embossed with TATCHA's logo in gold, and a wrapping paper full of grace and sensuality (yep take my word for it). This set is exclusively available from Lane Crawford, it went OOS for a week and new stock has arrived according to my bunny ears.

The Japanese fervor aside, I find this set a huge bargain for what it contains. It has: Gold Camellia Nourishing Lip Balm. YES, that's the lip balm in a little pot with a piece of gold on top, and it's full size. Blotting Papers, a piece of the Luminous Deep Hydration Lifting Mask (which normally sold in a box of 4 pieces), and deluxe samples of Ageless Enriching Renewing Cream, Revitalizing Eye Cream. All came under HKD600.

I kid you not, this box is such an eye candy!

If you're not sure what your friends' taste in skincare or makeup is like, put this gift coffret in your bag, it's the hand cream and nail oil set* from GLYCEL:

This has a full size Vital Hand Care cream (50ml), and 3 tubes of mini hand creams (so perfect for tucking into handbags, I can put one in each bag now!), and a full size nail care oil pen. It has a click dispenser and a cap, so handy for those on the go.

Everything come under HKD300 and are nicely packed in a festive, merry-colored box.

Looking for last minute gift ideas? Try this giftcard service from GIFTWELL. You can pick the amount and the store which your friend would like to spend in, and voila, the card will arrive at your doorstep or hers/his.

It's that simple. Pick what you think your friend is like (foodie? fashionista? beauty junkie? for mom? for dad??)
Being a beauty junkie, I'm happy to see "10/10 Space" is listed on Giftwell, you can pick any amount of voucher and the recipient can pick whatever kind of skincare sets and facial treatments offered by the store. "10/10 Space" carry Elemis, Philip B, Eve Lom, Malin + Goetz, Neal's Yard Remedies, need I say more?

For foodie friends, you can pick them a giftcard at 126 grammes, selling cream puffs and homemade gourmand. Their cream puffs are DELICIOUS, period.

Or pick from the wide range of teas and macaroons offered from LGB.

For the fashionista bestie, there's Kapok fashion store to cater their needs. Stocking a bit of everything from each country's niche brands, covering from shoes to clothes to bags to jewelry, stationery to candles and books. It's a no-brainer.

Also featured on Giftwell is Loveramics, their selection of ceramics are exquisite. I die just looking at the motifs embossed on those plates alone.

You can also pick from Flannel Flowers, which has beautifully crafted baskets and flowers for the festive season.

The giftcard will be sent to your doorstep in a box below:

Have you guys started shopping for the holidays yet? Got anything for yourself? ;) That'd be the interesting bit I want to know!

  1. OMG that Tatcha set! I keep wanting to try the brand, but it's only available online and shipping isn't all that cheap. I'm still waiting for them to expand ;)

  2. yes shipping from their site is quite something! I wouldn't tried it if not for its local availability, but yeah that set is good value!

  3. I love the image and concept behind TATCHA but I broke out so badly from their sampler kit (which isn't that cheap at $50!) but it was an experience. I actually prefer my Yojiya enzyme powder more. However, TATCHA's blotting sheets are one of the BEST oil blotting sheets I've ever used & the little gold flakes are such a luxury.
