Paul & Joe Carousel Collection Swatches

This is going to be a very brief post. In short, the Paul & Joe Carousel Collection is simply too adorable to pass. Look at the elephant-print lipstick and eyeshadow! I love anything to do with merry-go-rounds, so that eyeshadows are a must-have. Speaking of cartoon drawings, I like cartoon drawings of cats, horses, elephants, giraffes and dolphins. Before I stretch too far away from the topic, let's get to see the real products in the Paul & Joe spring collection!

The lipstick in the center of the display, clockwise from top is Manege, on the right is Merry-Go-Round, and the bottom one is Carousel. I took home the safest and easiest, peachy pink = Carousel! Manege is the most beautiful fuschia I've come across! Merry-Go-Round is a coral.

Next up is the eyeshadow duos. As I love elephants, it's just a matter of time before I take home with me Calliope eyeshadow duo! It's a pretty pair of neutrals in the shadow box. Montmarte also captured my heart as the olive and light greens are too exotic to resist, La Belle Epoque will make a subtle smoky eye!

May I suggest you to take a look at the cat-print pressed powder? The shade is a swirl of cotton candy pinks, light marshmallow green, and traces of champagne gold (see pic on the right below). The shimmer is not chunky, not obvious. There's a lovely puff attached, and a pretty film of merry-go-round separating the puff and powder. This powder just screams at my wallet!

I have never been one to pay attention to Paul & Joe during the whole of my beauty addict life, but I just fell for this collection and the kid side of me is nostalgic about anything related to merry-go-rounds. This collection is selling like hot cakes and some of the products are already out of stock on ASOS and local stores. Hope these swatches help!

  1. Good heavens--that Swirl powder is SO stunning! I don't know HOW I missed that as being part of the collection! (probably because I was so fixated on the gorgeous blushes :P). The powder is truly beautiful though! Is it meant to be used as a highlighter, Jenni? I wish there were a Paul & Joe retailer closer to me so I could swatch this :/

  2. Hi Becca! The swirl powder is truly a breath-taking beauty, i think it could work as a highlighter as well as pressed powder. It has tiny bit of shimmer though, so if you don't want a shimmery effect all over face, I'd suggest to use it on the browbones and nose bridge only! :) I got mine from ASOS, the crazy side of me didn't wait for swatches before ordering XD!

  7. We don't have P&J in Canada so I'm spared from the temptation most of the time! But the carousel theme is adorable and I'll probably pick up something from them the next time I go to the States. :)
