Trilogy Balancing Gel Cleanser Review

I've been testing out this Gel Cleanser from Trilogy lately. Trilogy is a skincare brand based in New Zealand and their products are like the packaging, simple yet effective. You might have heard of the Rose Hip Oil released by Trilogy before, the oil was voted best in various women's magazines. Trilogy skincare is available on Boots.com, Lovelula.com, Zuneta.com (previously).

Now if you have read my blog long enough, you will learn that I like foam and gel cleansers way more than cleansing milk, because the former two options make me feel clean. This Balancing Gel Cleanser from Trilogy does not disappoint! The cleanser aims to cleans without stripping moisture from skin, and it helps to balances and tones your skin. The formula is low-foam, so it's gentle and effective.

Witch Hazel and willow bark had been added into this cleanser, aloe vera, chamomile and cucumber had been added for soothing and cooling effects. Elderberry helps to fight bacteria.

I"ve been testing this cleanser for a month and is 1/3 done, as you can see. The gel is transparent, and carries a refreshing fruity herbal scent. The whole tube is 150ml, and is good for about 3 months.

I used about a penny's size of the cleanser, wet with a bit of water and smooth it on the face and slowly massage. Rinse with water and your skin is now good to go. Since the formula is not foamy, it is very gentle on the skin and your skin will not feel tense and dry afterwards. The formula is certified by BioGro as: non animal-tested, non genetically modified. Trilogy products are now also certified Carbon Zero.

A pic of the ingredients list:

In gist, if you have oily and combo skin, I highly recommend this cleanser as it helps to clean away the dirt and impurities, refreshes and soothes skin. Lathering is easy and it's such a joy to use.

  2. I've been using micellar water and cleansing balms/cream cleansers for a while now, and I'm pretty happy with it! I think the thing is I now live in a drier and colder climate, so my skin could use some more miniaturization. Trilogy remains a brand that I haven't looked into, but now I'm definitely intrigued!

  3. Hi Sunny! I've tried to like micellar water but prefer cleansing oils and foam cleansers more! EU is pretty dry so creams and balms are definitely more suitable! I'm intrigued by the Rose Hip Oil by Trilogy too.
