Emptied Products in May

I spent a week on vacation this month and therefore the empties this month would be separated in two parts (pictures taken at different places!).

Chanel Eau Douceur Cleansing Water for Face and Eyes - this is the Chanel micellar solution for makeup removal. I however only tried it on the eyes, it felt gentle, comfortable and not stinging. For waterproof eye makeup, I would suggest the bi-phase formula.

Chanel Demaquillant Yeux Intense Eye Makeup Remover - this had been reviewed and finished countless times, still have small samples of this going! One word: Love.

Jill Stuart Cleansing Oil - delightful berry smell in all JS products. The oil cleans pretty well but the bottle is poorly designed, it'll drip once I poured some on to my palm. The full size bottle, however, comes with a dispenser pump so no worries. The texture of this oil leans a bit runny but cleans just as good as the thicker ones do.

Bioderma Hydrabio moisturizing toning lotion - this little thing captures lots of moisture in it. I thought it's just any other toner but when applying the cotton pad on the face, it felt as if more and more water is coming out from the cotton pad. The drydown feels a bit soap-y to me so I don't think I'll purchase.

Sulwhasoo Essential Rejuvenating Eye Cream - carries a ginseng smell which I love. The consistency of the eye cream is not thick, I did not notice any difference to my eyes after using it.

Apivita Natural Serum for Hydration - Love this serum, it felt lightweight, and most importantly, does not feel like silicone!

Kiehl's Superbly Smoothing Argan Hair Pak - I got 3 uses out of this as a hair mask. I prefer the Olive Oil version as that one made my hair 'flow' smoother.

Kiehl's Calendula toner - I used up a full size bottle before and LOVED it.

Apivita Express Beauty masks - these have become a regular staple in my beauty routine. The carrot and Pomegranate ones were new this time.

Nature Republic Snail Therapy Hydrogel Mask Sheet - my HG sheet mask (even though I much prefer wash-off mask now). The mask sheet is made of material that resembles silicone (they say its hydrogel, idk) and the mask hugs the skin so closely so it won't fall off and I can continue with my other businesses. It made my skin felt so much plumper and youthful.

Nature Republic Essential Solution Mask sheet with Caviar - this mask is made of regular cloth material and didn't WOW me. I did not see any particular improvements on the skin after using.

SANA Hadanomy Collagen Mask - another HG sheet mask which I had learned recently had been discontinued from Sasa. I grabbed 4 boxes of these and will cherish them until I find something better..... Yes it's not the cheapest but it's hard to find something that really injects moisture to your skin and nothing else.

UNT Hydra Energy Mask - packed with beauty essence but I could not recall any special effects from it after using.

Etude House Collagen Moistfull Mask - nothing to write home about...

The Face Shop sheet masks - I gave up typing their names because if you look closely you will see their names/ingredients are Chinese herbs...this is rather gimmicky and there's nothing to write home about either about their effects on the skin.

DHC Eye Mask - previously reviewed HERE

The following are stuff that I used up during my 1-week trip -

Apivita Propoline Shampoo for colored hair - both above and below pics. It was not easy to lather thoroughly.

SANA Hadanomy Collagen Mask - talked in the above already.

Another DHC Eye Mask used up.

Visoanska moisturizer - above and below. They are a bit too rich for my skin at this stage.

Kiehl's Amino Acid Shampoo - both above and below pics. this lathers and rinses well, leaves hair feeling smooth and alleviates some of the tangled hair I"ve had since arrival.

Kiehl's Superbly Smoothing Argan Hair Pak - talked about it above.

Kanebo Blanchir Superior Moisture Gel - I got two uses out of it. It felt great on the skin and was quickly absorbed. It is said to moisturize and whiten at the same time, sample is too small for me to comment on effects.

Guerlain Blanc de Perle Lightening Base Whitening Effect in Pink SPF 30 - this made the sebum around my nose more obvious. Nevertheless, the texture was great - spreads evenly and brightens skin instantly. Sadly I had to toss it after a few uses because I think it didn't quite agree with my skin.

Apivita Aqua Vita moisturizer - pretty lightweight and agreeable on my skin, would love to test this further, though.

Merlot Grape Seed Night cream - this is a bit thicker than the Apivita one. Not the best texture and finish though. Will not repurchase.

Bioderma Hydrabio Micellar Solution - Could not notice difference between this and the Sensibio one, even though this is supposedly a 'hydrating' version. I guess either one is fine by my skin.

Another DHC Eye Mask

Diptyque Smoothing Body Polish - the content of this body scrub reminds me of cookies n cream flavoured ice cream! The particles are in black and the cream itself is white. The scent is faint and the scrub particles are pretty dense. I had to mix with water on the palm before going ahead to rub and scrub. Not bad, but I cannot justify the price tag.

Mandom Beauty Barrier Repair Collagen Mask - used this on the flight. Felt great on the skin but seemed to dry a bit quicker than usual ones, maybe that's due to the dryness up in the air.

So there it is!

Full Size: (14) + 0 = 14
Deluxe samples: (37) + 5  = 42
Small / packet samples:  (28) + 16 = 44
Masks: (28) + 18 = 46
Tossed: (5) + 0 = 5

I'm catching up with reading blog posts I've missed during the past two weeks and have more reviews coming on their way!

    1. I slap on a mask whenever I can after removing mu + cleansing :D mostly moisture ones, sometimes cleansing or peeling, revitalizing, etc in an effort to restore my skin to sanity.

  3. Great job on all the products you used up. I really don't like the little sample packets as it's so difficult to get a good feel of a product using just that little packet, unless you have a good supply of them.

    1. it can be hard to truly have a taste of how the product works in the long run with small samples I agree! I think eye cream samples are ok in that aspect because a little goes a long way. some brands like clarins make deluxe sized samples, those are great!

  5. Way to go, girly! I am very intrigued by Sulwhasoo products. I'll have to check them out when I'm back in Taipei this summer! I know the ginseng smell is probably not for everyone, but I have a hunch I'll love it!

  6. Jen, does the Nature Republic mask leave a sticky film? I have a snail mask from NR too (with Jang Geun Suk's face plastered on it) and I can't stand how sticky it makes my face feels.

Gosh, I love my Guerlain UV Base. We have such differing opinions ot it!
