I'm thrilled to show you the new quad from Chanel - Ombres Tracees in Jardin Zen, and the Illusion d'Ombre cream shadow in #94 Rose Des Vents today! It's been quite a while since I last featured Chanel on this blog and I'm ecstatic to procure these two pieces.
Both Jardin Zen and Rose Des Vents are Limited Edition. (Excuse me for the typo "Jardine" in the pictures :P), the Jardin Zen quad has 2g.
The colors in the quad are: a matte black, a pearly pale beige with slight yellow undertones, a candy floss pink, and a grey-toned purple (my favourite).
The Illusion d'Ombre in Rose Des Vents (RDV) is glorious - I've compared it with Impulsion at the store, and RDV is definitely a lot more pink than Impulsion. Impulsion remains a bit silver-toned, cool pink on my skin. I hesitated when purchasing any new Illusion d'Ombre because I have a feeling they'll dry out well before I finish them. But RDV is just so pretty to pass! (So are Convoitise and Impulsion! I'm kicking myself for not getting Apparence from the holiday collection already!)
The tiny brush that comes with the IdO is as usual, stiff, dead stiff, so I won't be using it.
Swatches: Rose Des Vents on the far left, Jardin Zen on the right, taken under different lighting.
I"m really impressed with my purchases this time - Rose Des Vents makes a good base and coordinates beautifully with any, ANY color from Jardin Zen. As for the quad, the shades are extremely versatile and I can imagine reaching for all 4 shades regularly. There's also a Joues Contraste blush in Sakura - it's a bit glittery under store lighting but the pastel pink will look fabulous on any fair skins. It's on my wishlist and I may go back for it, who knows!
